It does.

1. While on the guide,  press C.  Select Subscribed.

2 and 3.  Press Menu->Settings->Channel Setup.  Hide whatever channel you want from there.  This is the same process as the old guide, pretty much.

I cannot hide channel 356, a channel that provides On Demand Porn, it does not show up in the hide channel lists?

if this has to be part of your service, please provide a way to remove it so my kids do not have to see the listing

I don't believe you can hide any of the OD channels.  You can of course add a "PIN code" so that you need that to order anything.

You can also set up a set of favourite channels - I have about 20-30 channels set up as favourites. Once set, repeated presses of the "Guide" button will alternate between favourites and all channels.  If you leave it on favourites, your kids may not "see" the channel. I'm not sure if it reverts to all channels after switching the box off.

Hello @deeplakes

Thank you for the post. I can understand the concern & we take matters like this very seriously. Can you confirm if you have tried to block the channel using the instructions here? I've also sent you a PM from @CommunityHelps so we can further assist.

Yes I have followed those directions, I can block and have blocked hundreds of channels, including other on-demand channels but cannot remove channel 356

also, when a recording is stopped it goes directly to this channel and asks me to subscribe to it???

The list of channels skips the number 356...there is 355 and 357 so the channle does not appear so cannot be selected in the list

Its possible to hide it....I just did it.  All On Demand channels can be hidden with the Navigatr software.

This sounds like something in the software has temporarily lost its mind.  Try a reboot of the box, then try hiding the  channel again.

Thanks, that worked.

I had tried this a few times but this time it updated the software and the channel was available to hide

I have tried this method and when I,press C, nothing happens.

It's a very subtle change and if you're viewing a section of the guide that contains only channels you've subscribed to, you may not notice the change.

When you open the guide and press C, you'll get a submenu. Select "Subscribed".

If successful, in the upper left and corner, it should say "Rogers Navigatr Subscribed". Instead of "Rogers Navigatr Guide"

Hi, thanks for your answer. When I’m viewing the guide, if I press C, nothing changes or happens.

@Pidaigle : Here are some suggestions, questions.

1. What is the exact model number of your box?  It should be on the front.

2. Try rebooting the box.  If it's a PVR wait until all recordings are finished, then unplug for a few seconds.

@Pidaigle : I believe that this model doesn't use the Navigatr firmware that we have been providing you instructions for.  You are either in one of the small areas of Ontario that used Motorola equipment or you're in Atlantic Canada. Someone familiar with that model will have to advise, but it may not be possible with that firmware/model box...

Nextbox 3.0 unhides channels on reboot

I unplug my Nextbox 3.0 at night so that the sound of the fan doesn't bother me at night in my bedroom.  When I reboot it the next morning it unhides six specific channels (115, 203, 320, 330, 428, 975) which I had previously hidden.  So now when I surf through the channels it brings up those previously hidden channels with a message that I don't subscribe (which I don't).  My only solution is to go back in to settings and manually hide those again.  At first Rogers told me they could definitely fix this.  Now they are telling me this is normal and is designed to encourage me to use pay-per-view even though 975 is not a pay-per-view channel.  Is this normal?

Re: Hide Channels

Hello @X318,

Thanks for your post! I can appreciate your reasoning behind the unplugging of your box each night. The concern I have is that these boxes are meant to be connected to the Rogers network on a consistent basis to ensure you are receiving our updates which typically occur overnight. Also, by unplugging the box and forcing a reboot each morning, this could potentially cause some of your personal settings to be disrupted.

As mentioned by one of our awesome RE's @57, what you can try doing is setting up a favourites list of all your preferred channels and when watching TV, you can just flip to this specific list. This will ensure that you do not see any unwanted or unsubscribed to content.

Alternatively, you may want to look into our new Ignite TV offerings to see if that is something you'd like to consider. The set-top boxes used for Ignite TV are much quieter and there are many options for personalization offered with it. Here's a link to the Ignite TV service should you be interested in checking it out: https://www.rogers.com/web/consumer/ignite-bundles/tv-internet

Kind regards,
RogersLaura

I am not sure where the C is, is this ignite?  I push guide on the remote and see all that channels, thanks for your reply!

Re: Hide Channels

Hello @juwat!

A warm welcome to the community and great first post!

This particular discussion is in reference to our legacy, cable TV service. If you are an Ignite TV customer looking for information on how to adjust the channels in your guide view, please see this thread instead.

I hope this helps! 🙂
