Really? AMC HD? When did that come to Rogers and what channel is it on?
Unfortunately we do not carry this channel on HD at this time. It is noted on our website in error and we are working to have it corrected.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your understanding,
Too funny. How long does it take to correct a simple line of text on a webpage? 30 seconds? As a developer, I offer Rogers my services to clean up your whole IT department - including the code that constantly screws up peoples accounts/services/bills, et al - this would include firing all the dead weight - especially the managers: obviously they have no clue how to manage your environment.
Just signed up for HD and very disappointed to find out AMC HD was actually not part of the Rogers lineup even though it states it on their website!! Wish I had seen this posting earlier.
Ya, I've been a Rogers customer for 25 years and they're always missing the ball. I could care less about having the Cottage Channel, or the Sunset Channel. What a friggin waste of bandwidth!!!
I've called them many times to give us great channels like Space HD and AMC HD, and what do we get, a bunch of kid's networks in HD, that are of no interest to most adult viewers with no kids or their's are already grown up... you know, those who pay the friggin cable bill.
I hate the CRTC and I hate the way Rogers forces us to take crappy channels that we're not interested in, and then doesn't quickly jump on board when great channels come along.
Rogers... YOU SUCK!!!!
I too would like to see AMC in HD. Don't be fooled by the old perception that AMC is the graveyard of old black and white Hollywood B-movies.
AMC is a curious channel, in that its content spans an extreme range, from the Three Stooges at one end of the spectrum to Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and **bleep** on Wheels at the other end.
Watching the latter, which are shot in HD, from the current SD feed in zoomed letterbox mode is painful. It isn't even good SD. It looks like 1.5 Mbits at best, with pixillation and extreme motion lag. The production values of these Emmy award-winning series are totally lost. You have to wait months to get the series in Blu-Ray to appreciate what's really there.
Rogers, you have the bandwidth, and when you choose to allocate it, the quality can be stunning, even on a large screen projector. I would gladly forego the Sunset Channel, the Aquarium Channel, or the Rotisserie Channel.
There is a great lineup coming in the next few months: Walking Dead, Mad Men, The Killing, and the final season of Breaking Bad. Please bring in the HD feed. If nothing else, consider iit a substitution for the removal of HDNet.
Yeah, get rid of the Rotisserie channel? I wonder how much Swiss Chalet is paying Rogers to keep that channel around. Who watches it?
C'mon Rogers ... where is AMC HD??? Why can't we watch Walking Dead in HD! It's no wonder that people download shows directly and bypass their cable companies.
