For me ebay was the best and easiest place to shop, and the seller with a high rating sells the YAGI 24 dB outdoor directional antennas with the included coax cable kit cheap, one for Netcomm...

And also the same seller sold me one for my Ericsson W35...

This YAGI 24 dB antenna I bought made a world of difference when I had little or no signal during the summer. Also, a Wilson dual band amplifier at ebay can increase the signal another bar or two if needed.

Perfect - thanks for the reply. That's a reasonable price as well.

Re: External Antennas for Rockethub recommendation

I have the Wilson multi-band antenna on my W35 RRH, as per the following web site:

This antenna is available from a number of distributors here in Canada.  Just make sure that you get the coax cable with the correct and for the type of hub you have the Ericsson and Netcomm require different connectors.  Adaptors and pigtails are readily available for each type.

I bought one of the antennas from the supplier on ebay that tim suggested... using a $10.00 paypal coupon... and this is what I got shipped to me... let us wait and see how the insurance claim pans out... the box was ripped open on pickup, the antenna is warped and twisted...

Hey skin.. other than using the celltower site for giving a general idea of where to point.. any tips on actually installing the antenna.. ie what did you use for pointing.. the router webpage for eg?

thanks

Hi Xplornetsucks, I'm sorry the shipping did not turn out that well in your situation. You can't use this antenna unless it is perfectly straight, so it's best to send it back to that seller and ask him to pay for shipping both ways. This seller was nice with me and I think he will feel obliged, just send him those pictures and see what he will do.

And I really like that sturdy knife you have there on that counter in that photo. Did you get that qualify knife at ebay too?

i would like to try an external antenna on my Rocket Hub. When I follow the link there are many to choose from. Can you indicate which model would work on my Rocket HUB?

Re: External Antennas for Rockethub recommendation

@hillge1:

Wilson has a line of antennas which are suitable.

I use a Wilson W-304411 Directional Antenna for my Ericsson W35 RocketHub.  It is available on eBay and other places.  Just watch two things: make sure you get the right pigtail/connector for your make/model RocketHub, and make sure you shop around on-line to understand the wide variation in pricing for this kind of item, depending on where and from whom you purchase it.

This Wilson antenna is directional, so you need to point it at the cell tower from which you get your signal for it to be most effective.
