Can Rogers block IEMI #s for stolen Blackberrys??

My Blackberry 9900 was stolen and I was wondering if Rogers (or who) can block the IMEI number so the phone is unusable...

I filed a police report as well if that helps.

Thanks for any help

Hello ccjjrr,

According to the info we have here: http://www.rogers.com/web/content/handset-protection?cm_sp=Consumer-_-Wireless_0910_Eng-_-HandsetPro...

If you get a new device using the Lost/Stolen program, your old device will be permanently blocked from use on the Rogers network.

You can find full details if you click on the lost/stolen heading for the above link.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Some carriers will blacklist a BlackBerry device on ALL networks.  From this article, I get the impression that Rogers will block a device ONLY from the Rogers network.

Will Rogers go the extra step and block access by the phone to ALL networks?  🙂
