Can I use my own DOCSIS 3.0 modem?

Hi folks:  I'm not with Rogers Internet yet, but am thinking of subscribing.

I currently have a Motorola SB6120 DOCSIS 3.0 modem - does Rogers allow for usage of other modems that they don't offer to rent/sell?

If I can use my own modem, would I need to set it up myself?  That is they, 'll give me the UserID / Password and I have to configure the modem.

Thanks!

Re: Can I use my own DOCSIS 3.0 modem?

Generaly, the answer is.... maybe?

Rogers themselves does not provide their own D3 modem.

While many of the D3 modems SHOULD work with rogers, they really dont like putting them on.
A few people have had luck, but have had to go through hoops and different people to actualy get it added onto the account.. usualy due to the SN not being in the system, so cant activate it on the account, etc.
