Call Busy for Long Distance Calls

We have our phone set so that when we are on the phone incoming calls hear a busy signal, which is exactly what we want.  However when the incoming call is a Long Distance call, the call goes straight through to voicemail, which is NOT what we want.

Is there a way to set this so that NO CALLS go through to voicemail when we are on the phone and the caller hears a busy signal only.

Thanks.

Re: Call Busy for Long Distance Calls

Hi mwlahn,

Please give this a try to see if it works.

So that additional callers will hear a busy signal while you are on the line:

  1. Pick up your telephone and dial * 9 1.
  2. Wait for two beeps confirming that Voicemail has been turned off.
  3. Hang up.

To turn Voicemail back on:

  1. Dial * 9 0.
  2. Wait for two beeps confirming that Voicemail has been turned back on.
  3. Hang up.
