I've Been Here Awhile

Where can I find status of Rogers Services?

 

Currently we are having a "Major Cable Outage", No internet, No Phone and No cables since morning in Vaughan (Dufferin and Rutherford intersection). Smiley Frustrated

 

All I get is automated recording that Rogers are having "Major Cable Outage", anyone knows something about it?

And it's now back to normal. The service interruptions in the Bolton, On area are now resolved. Sorry for the inconvenience.

 

Is everyone that was impacted back up? If not, please reach out to @RogersHelps.

This outage has been going on for 7 hours in my area. Does anyone have any idea what's happening?

Which area are you in? Here in Scarborough, Ontario we are good & nothing is wrong

Have you contacted Rogers & asked them what is going on?

If not then i suggesting doing it. They will know more then we do.

Yup, I've contacted them several times. They admit the outage, but won't say what's wrong or when they expect it fixed.

That does sound like Rogers. Seeing as they already said something is going on, just wait it out. If by tomorrow they do not bring it up, call & speak to a Manager at cable & see what they will say. The only thing i suggest is just watch a few movies threw DVD or computer for the time being until Rogers brings back Cable in your area.

Sometimes they might be fixing something & the reps wont know because the tech do not say what it is.

I was without cable for 1 day. Nothing really bad.

It's not a big, deal, but I was counting on watching the baseball game. This also took out my internet, which uses rogers cable to get to my house. It would be nice if they did give some type of explanation and estimated ETA. That would be the least they could do.

I do agree that they should be able to give a explanation or a ETA but remember, sometimes if they give you a ETA & they can not make it due to something else, you will get mad right? So they play it safe & do not give a ETA.

The explanation like i said it could be for many reasons why they are not giving it out, but at least they should have told you said something i do agree

it sounds like you are in the Meadowvale neighbourhood of mississauga?

I am very close to you ie; streetsville/east credit and no problems here. Do your neighbours also have the same problem? They should call and report it as well, the more the people report the outage, I find they fix it faster.

Agreed with Pauly. If your neighbours are having the same issue, get them to call in & Rogers will fix it fast. It might take a few hours but they will fix it for you guys with the more people calling it about it.

Then get them to contact Rogers, & complain about it. Once Rogers sees all them are calling in about the same exact issue, Rogers will speed it up & fix the issue faster.

Yeah what meowmix said. They should call in and report it. Like any business, the more their clients are complaining about something the more likely they are to act upon it when the number of complaints increases.

A little tip when something like this happens.

Call in at the exact same time if you can arrange it. This will often get a tech out ASAP that day, In stead on the next, etc. (If it ends up being a physical problem rather than on Rogers end)

Unfortunately Rogers does NOT have a Outage status page. This is something we all have asked for on here, Idea Box & other places.

The only way to find out is calling in or seeing if anyone else will post something. Also they do not give ETA's

I was trying to find out about the outage too and someone told me to follow @RogersBuzz on Twitter.  They posted a tweet about the outage saying it was the Bolton area - my town.  No ETA to fix though.

I work in King and live in Bolton.  The outage ranges from  Hwy 50 to Keele and i can't remember north and south boundries.  I was told this morning that it was a damaged fibre optic cable and it could take anywhere from 8-12 hours to fix.  I have not been able to get an update since but an praying they fix it soon.  I'm using up all my cellphone data using it as a portable wifi
