I'm wondering if anyone know if and when Rogers will put up the device reservation page up for the new Blackberry passport? According to the information going around, the device will be launched on Sept 24, and available in Canada on October 1st.
Solved! Solved! Go to Solution.
I tweeted @RogersBuzz and got one back saying that they "can't comment on unannounced devices". Blah - it's only a couple of days now 'till launch. I heard that UK and Saudi Arabia are getting it the day after launch.
I had online chat with sales today and couldn't get a real answer - just that he/she didn't know if Rogers would be getting BlackBerry Passport but if they do, it will appear online...
Telus already has Passport on their website immediately after BlackBerry's release event, and offering at $200 on a 2 year contract.
Telus was the first Canadian carrier to offer it but Rogers will be carrying it, according to John Chen at the launch event today. No word on when or at what price but he did say the big three Canadian carriers will carry it.
Thanks, I heard that a bit later today as well.
Wish Rogers' salespeople would know that - a bit frustrating when I was told that he/she doesn't know and that I have to find out through news articles rather than Rogers' staff.
I ordered the BB passport on the reservation system was # 227. I looked today to get my status and it says the order was cancelled. I've tried speaking with Rogers several times and nobody seems to be able to help me.
Any recommendations ? I'm at a loss trying to get a status. And on top of that I'm unable to re-order the device that says its cancelled.
Thanks so much
Thanks Meowmix, you're right they must have removed it from the reservation system yesterday. I was actually able to reserve this morning. It's weird the launch was yesterday but none of the Rogers stores received the device.
Thanks again for your help
what scarb stores got units?? might call to see if I can get a phone. I cant believe no Rogers stores have any stock!!! what the heck?? tried 5 stores all waiting. BB is gonna lose even more business when their partners cant even get the devices jeez...
also whats with the pricing eh? Telus for $199, Rogers $249 and Bell $299...do you think Rogers can price match?
How is it that the Blackberry Passport was launched almost two weeks ago yet no one at Rogers either over the telephone or at Rogers stores can tell me anything about when this device will be available? There is absolutely no marketing for the Passport in any Rogers store, nor is there a demo in any of the 5 different Rogers stores that I have visited. Everyone I have spoken to at Rogers is completely CLUELESS when it comes to anything to do with the BB Passport. Rogers employees being clueless is not something new so i guess I shouldn't be surprised! I sent a tweet to Blackberry and they reply that it's the carrier's responsibility to stock the device. I tweet Rogers and they replied that it's Blackberry's responsibility (or fault). There are people like myself eagerly waiting to purchase this device but Rogers is too busy pushing iphones to care.
