Blackberry 10 Phone Questions / Reservation Numbers

Hello Everyone.

Rogers this morning did something i never believed they would have done. They opened up the reservation line for the Blackberry 10 device. No hardare picture / spec info has been give. You are ONLY able to reserve the device. There is $40 reservation fee that will be added to your account BUT it will be credited back ONCE the device has been shipped or the reservation has been cancelled. You will need to pick the store you want it to be shipped to as well. You can change the store while its in OPEN status.

For Business / Corporate clients, Log into your Business / Corporate account & do it from there. Here is the link : http://www.rogers.com/business/on/en/smallbusiness/

I am #64. I was going to do it earlier but was busy with work. Hurry UP!!!!!!!!!!

Any questions? I will be happy to answer them for you. 🙂

* The Rogers Reservation System FAQ can be found here : http://www.rogers.com/web/Rogers.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=support_results&_nfls=true&setLanguage...

** I would also like to add this for anyone to read as well:

" Note that use of the Reservation System does not guarantee that you will receive the device before everyone else. We will, however, do our best to get the device to you as soon as possible. In order to secure a place in our reservation line, a reservation fee of $40.00 plus taxes will be applied to your next Rogers invoice and will be credited back to your account when your device is shipped from our warehouse or when your reservation is cancelled."

Hello donttrusttheb

Actually you are wrong. This is NOT a pre order. It's a reservation and it fully says on the page and on the FAQ that you may NOT get the Device before anyone else. That being said, if the manufacturer does not send enough units, the carrier can not do anything. Also let's say RIM sent 5,000 units. Half goes to the stores and the other half gets divided to the call center and the reservations. This is how it works.

These are just for personal reservations, correct?

We are a BB shop here and work, and are likely to upgrade a few business users.

Hi there,

Just wondering - is this only for the "L" (full touch screen model) or is the reservation also good for the "N" (QWERTY/touch device)?

Thanks!

Hello rmarghi

This reservation is ONLY for the Blackberry 10 L device ( All touch phone). Blackberry is set to announce the touch and keyboard on or aftet the release of the L version. There will be a separate reservation for that.

I have tried numerous times to reserve my BB 10 online but everytime I get to the end I cannot submit the request. No URL is displayed on the screen, it seems to be a dead link when I click on suvbmit. Very Frustrating!!!!

Hello ggidora

Which browser are you using? Its known that the reservation system sometimes does not work with some internet browsers

It doesn't work in IE9 browser. I just tried. Not making it very helpful for people trying to buy your products and services.

Hello rogersguy77

Try using Firefox and or Chrome. Its been a known issue that the reservation system does NOT work well with IE9.

@Meowmix.

I probably will try on chrome tonight...but it's likely that a lot of other people wouldn't bother to continue with the reservation after this initial resistance and frustration.

Wouldn't it make sense for the reservation system to function on IE9 seeing as its the stock browser on something like 70% of all operating systems?  Or failing adapting your systems to browsers, perhaps since it is a "known issue" you could put a notice on the page that the reservation system will not work with IE9?  Would prevent alot of fist-wringing and other frustration.

Thanks

Hello rogersguy77

I do NOT work for Rogers. Thus I can NOT add anything on their home page or reservation page. This is a known issue as people tried reserving the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy Note 2 had troubles with IE9 and yet Rogers never fixed it. I guess they think its better we use another browser.

I do agree with you tho they should add it to work.

I'm pretty sure I've had no issues with IE9 and the reservation system, but I may have enabled compatibility mode in IE9.

I'll check tonight to see if it actually works for me, but I know I've had zero issues with Firefox or Chrome.

Hello AnonymousUser

It may work BUT many others on the Apple iPhone 5 and Note 2 reservation threads have had issues using IE9 with the reserving the phones. Its a known issue Rogers knows about for months. Even on their facebook months ago they said it.

Well if it works for me, and I just confirmed it does, no reason why others can't successfully use it either. Just need to enable compatibility view.  Slight nuisance, but not out of the norm for IE.

There you go. No one knew about that. Rogers never said anything about putting it in compatibility mode. Also not everyone knows this. You must understand that as well. Not everyone is tech savvy like you and I.

Rogers opened up reservations for the bb10 only to non-business customers. They told me that business consumers have to wait. What's the point! What idiot thought of that! The reason people buy Berries is because it is a business tool. I'm very frustrated and I'm amazed that the person or committee that thought of the idea of blocking business customers from reserving this phone has beat natural selection.

Hello roadbully

It could be that they are having difficulty doing it for the business side. I do tho agree that they should be able to open up the reservation system for the business side as businesses use Blackberries as well. I would like to hear more from Rogers BUT they do not comment on this stuff which sucks. I will contact them & speak to a Manager & i will also take it on the Rogers Facebook & twitter pages.

I am sorry for your inconvenience:(

EDIT -
I found the link you need to do it with. This will let you sign up & send you a email about it tho.

Hi, I can upgrade on the 19th of January but I reserved my BB10 phone. Will they do the new upgrade at the store when they contact me to come pick it up? #857 😞

Hello babysakic

Yes they will do it at the store!. The phone will be shipped to the store you picked it to go to. Once you go pick it up, they will ask you what you want to do. Tell them you want to do a simple upgrade & you are set:)

Just to avoid any confusion, your BB 10 upgrade will be done at the store but not before January 30th (and probably not even then).  I wasn't sure if your were asking about getting a BB 10 when your upgrade is available.  Yes you can, but you'll have to wait for a couple of weeks until BB 10 is publicly available.

Cheers.  🙂

Hello BillJ

Read their post again. Its said " Will they do the new upgrade at the store when they contact me to come pick it up? " That means they already know they have to wait for the upgrade to be done.. Its abit confusing but was able to understand and give ther proper answer just like you did:)
