I am posting this now as tomorrow i will be unable to come online due to some family appointments i have Smiley Sad

 

Once again its the time of the year that Apple will be announcing their new iPhone line up. I am happy to announce that iPhone 8 / 8 Plus and iPhone X will be announced tomorrow! As for the specs, They are rumored to be the iPhone X will have a OLED wrap around display near bazel-less and have 3GB of RAM and wireless charging as per the rumors. The iPhone 8 / 8+ will have similar body and display as the iPhone 7 and newer technology such as new camera / Face unlocking and more! Will update this tomorrow when i can! The names to be rumored as per what the IOS11 beta has shown and also some of the features! Again i will try and update the thread tomorrow when i can! 

 


1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Apple iPhone 8 / 8+ and iPhone X to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Product & Services – Wireless & you will see a Red wording saying “Device Reservation" on the main page. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want, iPhone 8 Black and what other colors they may release it on. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.


2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.


3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do remember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.

4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confuses about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

 

5). They also started last year a pre ordering system done online being charged on your CC ( Credit card) imminently and having the device shipped to your home instead. Last year with the iPhone 7 / 7 Plus the ones that picked this way got it the day of launch or day after launch but only a few did. Not everyone.  This way is a good way but sadly u do not see any status updates like u do with the reservation system and only get a confirmation email and a shipment email. ( some did not get any email until the unit got shipped with QMS or UPS). Please do remember. Using the SHIP TO HOME option does NOT give u any insight of updates or status. You will only get notified when it ships out.

@Meowmix i thought they dont provide tracking numbers for ship to store? or am i wrong on this.

Given the fact that NO ONE has received their AC+ coverage certificate or even proof that their coverage is live via their apple support profile, I've put in an escalation with the AC+ activations department.  

 

They requested a screenshot showing my IMEI and the add on line item showing 'AC monthly $9/month'.

 

He said he will escalate this with rogers and my coverage will be live/I'll have an answer within 3-5 business days.  Also told him that this problem is systemic so hopefully while their activating my coverage they can work on everyone else's too.

Yes you are correct. Sorry been having a lot on my mind and read that as " ship to home".

@cici24 unfortunately you won't get a tracking number with ship to store. Calling in won't help either. Ship to store option doesn't give u a tracking number. Only ship to home does. So thus the store most likely received it Friday or today and will call you. However can call the store and ask.

Great to see the ball rolling. I wonder why this is happening only with Rogers. I haven't seen any reports like this on the Telus forums page nor any other page other then here and some on Twitter on Rogers.

honestly?  It's a straight up pricing error.  Rogers sold AC+ without figuring out what the proper price should be for the X.  It'll probably get sorted out on their end soon (so most likely you'll see something like $14/month for AC coverage) but for the people that added it at $9 per month, what option does rogers have besides just honoring that price error....

Looks like a shipment of Silver and Space Greys came in recently as a few people have moved up and got theirs shipped. now just waiting on mine lol ugh the suspense is killing me. Hopefully I get some sort of update this week and receive it next week.

Agreed, however I don't think Rogers will Honor it to be honest. They will find a way to get everyone pay the $14 a month.

@Meowmix thank you, I just spent 15 minutes on the phone with a rep telling me that they're looking at my account and don't see any order at all but "they can place a new order for me now" which makes no sense to me because i'm looking at my account right now and it says order has shipped. Are they just misinformed? I'm worried now because she's saying she sees no pre ordered phones on my account even though I can see it

Well it's on my account for $9 a month and tied to an IMEI linked to my X so not sure how they're going to spin this one.  If it's locked in at $9 per month I'm not sure how they can raise the price to $14 a month or whatever without everyone's consent.  

 

I'm 99.84% sure that's the reason for this delay.  You probably have a group of people over at rogers trying to figure out what to do without Rogers having to take an $83 loss on each iPhone X that they've applied AC+ to ($299 is the price you'd pay through Apple vs $9*24 = $216 with rogers)

This isn't a order. A reservation only reserves a phone under your name to be shipped to a store and once u go to the store, u get to get it if u want or not. So that's why they can't see it. It's not a actual order.

Update: I just received a random call from Rogers. They reassured me that I was somehow put on the priority list and that I will receive my iPhone X 256 space gray anytime within the next 3 weeks. It all depends on when they will receive shipments from Apple. (Ordered on nov. 4 with ship to home option as an upgrade). Not sure if this really accomplished anything but just letting you all know.

Yeah. Sadly it's lack of training and them not caring to actually know what they are saying. They hated when I would correct them and still do. Unfortunately they will continue to do this until head management starts getting involved

Exactly what I have been posting for weeks....

Yes that means they will push your account to priority. However its never a guarantee that you will get it fast. Just means they pushed it as a priority and hopefully the warehouse sees it.

So I called the store it's being sent to and unfortunately they don't have it yet. How long should I wait before I get concerned?  It shipped on Thursday, November 9. Thanks 🙂

Saturday and Sunday they don't deliver. So most likely it should be delivered today or tomorrow. If nothing shows up to tomorrow afternoon/ evening then I would be worried.

Are there multiple distribution centers or something. Reserved for store delivery back in October. I've been watching my place in line every day and it's been going down consistently since release day ( I was over #2000 on release day). until Last thursday and it's basically completely halted. (Seeing it go down by 1 randomly at different times out of normal business hours which I assume is people who found one elsewhere cancelling their orders). This doesn't seem to lineup with what I've been reading in this thread. Is this actually even a straight Queue? I ordered a space grey 256G model. It seems odd that they would have received new stock every day since release then absolutely nothing for several days.

There are multiple warehouses. However not all of them get stock. Only 2 of them and then they get distributioned it down the line.


Business and corporate have a different que. Every single model and color have a different que as well.

Just spoke to a rep today for an update on my phone. Apparently a shipment of 64gb silver and space grey came in. hoping to make the cut and get a phone assigned to me this week and receive it by next week.

Great to hear. Don't know how they know that information since the reps don't communicate to the warehouse but we shall see.
