Apple iPhone 6S & 6S Plus Questions / Reservation numbers!.

Meowmix
I'm a Trusted Advisor

Hello Everyone!

Once again i am making the iPhone Questions / Reservation thread!!!!! Apple just announced the new iPhone which is called iPhone 6S & iPhone 6S Plus . The new iPhone's includes a 3DTouch, 13MP back new isight camera, rose gold color &  much much more. . This thread is the offical thread for the iPhone 6S / 6S Plus for customers which have any questions or need answers!  Rogers will put up the pre order list for customers that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.

- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.

- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your  reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.

- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.

2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.

3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mind you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level 1 on the account but some stores will decline it.

For frequently asked questions about the Rogers Reservation System, please click here Rogers Reservation FAQ

4) . For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues  / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

Pre orders will come out Saturday Sept 12th & Launch date is Friday Sept 25th. I am sure Rogers will follow those orders. As for the device orders & which models Rogers will get. I am sure Rogers will get both models like they did last year.

Also the prices for both phones are different. So if you are going to get the iPhone 6S Plus, it will be much higher price then the iPhone 6S. Rogers will announce the phone prices within either today or  sometime before Friday!!! The prices are the same as last year from what Apple said!.

Also remember please post anything related about iPhone 6S & 6S Plus in here please. I know this is a long thread to read, but read it before asking multiple questions in which have been already answered in this post ( if they have been answered on this post / thread). I will do my best like I have for the past 5 years of doing this to answer any questions you have about the reservations or device.

IOS 9 will be available Sept 16th on your current Apple device!

Here are both links from Apple for the iPhone 6S & iPhone 6S Plus. I know for sure i will be getting the iPhone 6S Plus!.

if the pre-orders ship tomorrow you should have it by Tuesday,  Sucks I know.  Not sure why rogers didn't overnight the phones tonight for delivery tomorrow.

I submitted my pre-order for a 6s Plus grey on Sept 12th and have not been able to find any info the Rogers site - but on the Rogers app on my phone, under delivery status it shows "back order".  Anyone else seen this?

I did the same thing and I don't even see a delivery status on my Rogers app.  Where do you find that?

Hey Snatcher - click on your wireless number at the bottom, then scroll down the page and it should show up under the Manage My Phone section. Hope that helps.

As a pre-orderer (through Rogers website hardware upgrade page), I'm still reasonably confident that the phone will ship tonight for delivery tomorrow. I know people have gotten conflicting messages from Rogers reps, but when I called Rogers, they found my pre-order, said it had been processed, and gave me a UPS tracking number (not yet active) that on their system showed a delivery date for tomorrow (9/25). I live in Toronto.

I also have an Apple reservation for tomorrow at noon, but I'd prefer to get the phone directly from Rogers, as you save the $40 connection fee when doing it that way.

Thanks @Larabara.  Doesn't show up for me though.  Why am I not surprised.

Re: Apple iPhone 6S & 6S Plus Questions / Reservation numbers!.

Also, one thing I've realized is that now that you pay $20/month more on your contract when buying a "subsidized" phone, you're not really getting the phone for that much cheaper buying through a carrier.

1) You save $500 upfront.
2) You pay $20/month more over 24 months ($480 total, probably ~$450 in present value dollars).

Net net, you're really only saving ~$50 getting it subsidized. Assuming you have the money to be able to buy the phone outright, I would definitely just buy phone outright if:

1) You have a great plan from before that is better than the current Share Everything+ plans
2) You're open to switching carriers and want the option to do so more frequently (also allows you to get retention bonuses if you're really willing to switch).

Back in the day of the 3 year contract, a subsidized phone really was a REAL discounted phone (ie. you didn't pay more for your contract). For this discount, what you gave the carrier was 3 years of guaranteed future business. It's no longer like this, and so really the value of getting a "subsidized" phone is greatly decreased.

Especially given all of this commotion about the iPhone launch with Rogers and other carriers, it may make more sense for a lot more people to just buy the phone outright from Apple.

@Snatcher @Larabara Ya I don't see anything there either. I wouldn't make much of it at this point.

@christophermkim

Consider this for the 3 year terms...

1) It would seem that the phones were subsidized better since the up front cost wasn't as much...remember, phones 2 or 3 years ago did not cost $1000.00 Rogers/Telus/Bell, etc have to recoup the monies they pay up front to Apple/Samsung, etc. The contract pricing hasn't changed much, it's the overall price of the phone that has skyrocketed

2) On a 3 year term, even if your 'flex tab' was a zero balance prior to the 3 years expiring, were any of the providers discounting your plan cost based on the phone subsidy being paid off already? Never!!

3) Price plans have increased but let's face it...this is a company making a profit. A 1000 dollar phone with a 45 dollar plan would result in a net loss for anyone based on the subsidy they pay up front.

I'm not saying the 2 year plans are cheap and easy, but don't be fooled by the stories of grandeur of 3 year terms, they weren't much better for the customer

have not changed at all from #77 since i reserved my rose gold 128gb 6s+ on opening day minus one or two places as people cancelled, so i'm guessing they haven't actually moved a single one of these yet or i would have moved up in line? i'm hoping there is a lot of movement today, or else i should have just planned to buy at apple.

Thanks @Jammer005

My experince so far with Pre-Order has been similar,

Ordered on Sept 12 around 9:00

4 emails on the 12th ranging from Order Conf, Changing SIM, Device Protection, and Account Changes

1 email on the 14th regarding Hardware Order

nothing since then...

On a possibly positive note, my device balance shows the "Sorry, you are currently not eligible for an upgrade and your device balance is not available as you have activated or upgraded to a new device within the last 30 days." that others are seeing.

Hopefully we hear somthing soon, but i agree with @Meowmix and others, it isn't the end of the world to have to wait a bit.

@SummerlyGenie what does OPEN mean?

is this for a device reservation?

Re: Apple iPhone 6S & 6S Plus Questions / Reservation numbers!.

@SummerlyGenie

as far as i can tell, they haven't shipped a SINGLE 128gb rose gold 6S+ which is really disconcerting for launch. i understand that they only get so much stock from apple and they can't control that (as @Meowmix has mentioned), but they should be filling reservations before they start sending out stock to stores for general purchase.

i would hope rogers would start filling the reservations today (especially for phones like the 128gb rose gold 6s+ that they haven't shipped any of), but if they don't, i would hope there is not a single one of these at any rogers stores available for general purchase as that would just be an insult to those who committed right away to purchase the device and have been waiting.

best wishes that some big movement happens today and you are able to get yours (and i get mine) on launch!

For all we know 1000(s) of phones will be updated in one shot from OPEN to shipping. If they bulk import a bunch of tracking numbers.

My order now says I'm 0 of 161 -- it used to be 34 of 204.

It also now says In Progress instead of In Progress (Pre-Fulfillment). Does anyone know what that means?
