Hello Everyone!

 

 

 

Once again i am making the iPhone Questions / Reservation thread!!!!! Apple just announced the new iPhone which is called iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus . The new iPhone's includes a bigger screen, different backing design, better camera & VoLTE & much much more. . This thread will be where you need to post questions & even your reservation numbers once Rogers announces it & puts it up. Please do NOT make another thread about reservation & or about the new iPhone . I would like to keep it as one thread & clean..I am sure getting the iPhone Plus !!!

 

 

 

1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the iPhone 6 to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Product & Services – Wireless & you will see a Red wording saying “Device Reservation" on the main page. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want " iPhone 6 / 6 Plus  16GB, 64G,128GB  " & the color of the device you want. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .

 

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.

- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.

- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.

- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.

 

 

2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.

 

 

3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level  on the account but some stores will decline it.

4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues  / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

 

 

 

Pre orders will come out Friday Sept 12th & Launch date is Next Friday Sept 19th. I am sure Rogers will follow those orders. As for the device orders & which models Rogers will get. I am sure Rogers will get botboth models like they did last year.

 

Also the prices for both phones are different. So if you are going to get the iPhone 6 Plus, it will be much higher price then the iPhone 6. Rogers will announce the phone prices within either today or  sometime before Friday!!!

 

 

Also remember please post anything related about iPhone 6 & 6 Plus in here please. I know this is a long thread to read, but read it before asking multiple questions in which have been already answered in this post ( if they have been answered on this post / thread). I will do my best like I have for the past 4 years of doing this to answer any questions you have about the reservations or device.

I agree with that but they are trained to say that. If they say otherwise, its still a lie if u think about it. There really is no real answer to be honest. Not even my buddy at the warehouse knows when Apple will send more phones. It all depends on Apple.

As for the reps. They need to start saying something else instead of a few weeks. Do remember they are just reps which has NO access to invetory levels or stock. Head office could tel them that stock is limited and for them to tell customers that but it seems they aren't. I wouldn't put the full blame on the reps as they are doing what they are told just like all of us at work.

I agree the reservation system for the longest time needs to be revamped and fixed. This is something I have suggest many times.

Stores have more iPhone 6 devices then 6 Plus. Many on here are looking for the 6 Plus model. Those ones are the toughest reservations. Rogers should have enough iPhone 6 models in stock if the stores have them... Sounds like they are giving the 6 to the stores because of the holiday season is upon us and they want more sells that way? Hmm.. No one knows but it's not fair. That I will say.

Atleast you have the device now and u just have to wait until that changes until u get ur $40 + tax back.

I have to say Im highly dissapointed of Rogers, I know Rogers is not responsible for the backorder althoug, the poor management and lack of communication is the icing of the cake.

 

Lsat friday I received a Txt Message from rogers congratulating me for my new device and letting me know it was being shipped soon and find all the details on "the email"

 

a week later 

 

No email

Im still on Progress

Called the store and Nothing

Hello everyone. I have to say, after all of this wait...exactly 2 months from Sept 19-Nov. 19, I finally have my 6 Plus 64 SG phone. I picked it up yesterday afternoon, and I'm using it right now to type this message. I'm loving this phone. It's amazing. I never want to go through this long reservation process again though. Will only upgrade at least every 3 years...and that's if my phone is giving me trouble. I wish everyone still waiting all the best. I definitely feel for ya'll. When you do get it though, it's worth the wait.

I honestly can't believe that people are so stunned that they are still calling the reservation system "stupid".

PEOPLE!!!!!!
Do you not understand that this is not a "stupid" system? ..... This is a system PURPOSELY designed by Rogers to place corporate customers at the the bottom of the priority list. They know they have your business regardless of what they do and they could care less if you are "happy" or not. Wake up and smell the coffee.

I agree that corporate customers are likely treated differently from regular customers. The preferred rates given are used to offset the difference in customer service. It's a trade off of sorts.

 

At any rate, people should just accept that you either will have to wait a long time to get your phone or take your business elsewhere. At the rate my list is going it appears that the phone I ordered on Oct. 20th I will likely get sometime after Christmas. Sadlly, this is exactly what I expected from this system so this doesn't shock me at all.

The only problem with your argument is that restricting access to hardware is not withholding "service"... it's an underhanded abuse which is border line fraudulent in that this practice was not disclosed to customers before they were lured into coroporate contracts. Why is it that Canadians always seem more ready to make excuses for the unethical behavior that is increasingly a part of mainstream corporate behaviour rather than face the prospect of taking dirtbag companies to task?

As for corporate customers. While I do agree they are getting excuses and all, it seems Rogers has not gotten inventory from Apple in the last week or more. I wonder if Apple will be shipping alot more devices out next week as per your there members have said somewhere else.

The point I was simply making is that the only way a company would change it's business practice is if enough people dropped their services as a result off their actions. You don't like your cable service, so you switch. You don't like the service from a given dealership so you switch. Why not apply the same principle here? If enough people refused to use the system because they are unhappy with how it operates then Rogers would be forced to evaluate how they do business.

I don't agree with how the reservation system works. If you read past threads this was an issue with previous iPhone releases where non-corporate customers appeared to get their phones at a much faster rate than corporate customers. Nothing has changed in the past four years. The stock issue is real however I don't believe that the corporate reservation list and non-corporate lists are pooled. If more of the available stock is shifted to a given line it would explain why one group appear to be getting their reserved phones at a much faster rate. This is simply a forum to vent... Nothing more.

I wholy heart agree with you. I have made most of the reservation threads on here and can tell you that it's true. The business customers on all reservation devices have this issue, not the iPhone ones. It seems to be a problem with the business accounts holding them back or how u and I said many times it seems they want regular customers to have them first. It has upset me many times having to hear all this and personally my sister having to deal with it aswell. I wish i could somehow fix all this and give u guys ur phones but i don't work for them to do so.

Wow I must have lucked out! I reserved a iphone 6+ 64 gb gold on October 24, and got a shipping email today!

 If you are going to criticize my posts at least read them first. If you had read them it would be crystal clear that the  hardware I'm talking about is the iPhone 6 and 6+. I went on a waiting list on Sept 16 for a 128 gb 6 plus and am still waiting. That's 3 times longer than the lead time that Apple is advertising  for iPhone 6+ orders and that means Rogerss has been diverting it's "hardware" to other customers. What is most infuriating is the misinformation which has kept me hanging for almost 3 months. The expectation that the phone was just around the corner has kept me from placing an order somewhere else and going to the back of the line all over again. I'm sure this is the reason Rogers reps are instructed to give the scripted "the phone should be here with a week". 

Non of this corporate behaviour is random nor is it simple lack of internal information within the Rogers sales structure. It's a fully scripted and well thought out underhanded ploy to string people along and rope in as many new customers as possible (with the stock that should be going to current customers).

My sufpggestion would be to then contact the Office of the Ombudsman, and file a complaint. I did that when I ordered my iPhone 5 2 years ago. I was feeling exactly like you. Worse yet, I no longer had the use of my iPhone 3GS at ghd time because the battery wouldn't last beyond 15 minutes. Needless to say I needed a new phone and I was tired of being placated on the phone with promises of having the phone within a week. I knew this not to be the case when I was close to 1,000 on the list and it appeared that my number only dropped by about 15 or 20 per day if that. I raised a stink and got my phone sooner than I likely would have if I kept my mouth shut. Try this approach nternal1.

Finally, after 5 weeks of waiting, my reservation of iphone6 64GB silver has changed its status to Order In Progress (Activation). I was at #541 of #919 on last monday.

@ Meowmix do you know how long should I expect for the phone to ship out?

I agree 100% with the posts from nternal1 and Disappointed201.  If I had the option of dumping Rogers, I would.  The policy of giving phones to all the non corporate/business customers is disgusting.  Even the people who are jumping ship from other companies have received phones ahead of the loyal people who have been Rogers customers for years.  This is a public relations nightmare, and it will come around to bite Rogers.  The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned.

Its not just the corporate customers.   I am a residential customer and am still waiting for a 6 + 128gb space gray since Sept 16.  Same as all you guys.   I am now 14 in the list but it hasnt moved in a month.  I also read Apple says the wait time is 3-4 weeks for this yet how am I still stuck at 14 for a month?

Because yours is 128GB and there have been none. But I'm willing to bet though that when Apple does send Rogers 6+ 128gb space gray units, that you will gett yours before any corporate customers that reserved on Sept 12th.

 

 

On another note:

 

I wish I knew about the differential treatment between consumer and corporate customers before signing another 2 year contract with Rogers back in Sept.

I'm actually a regular consumer with my internet and cable bundled with my cell phone bill and called to say I was moving to Telus because my employer has employee discounts with both Telus and Rogers. 

Rogers could not beat the deal my employer has with Telus but I decided to stay with Rogers as I've been a cell phone customer since 1999 (tv and internet much long before) and the $ difference was minimal to me as I would not have to go through admin changes. In the end if I knew of this differential treatment I would have switched over to Telus immediately as my 4S is dying on me and I have no other phones I can use.

Good reply pinkpeonies.  I wonder if Rogers knows how much business they are losing.  I will never buy cable or Internet from them.  And more importantly I wonder if they have factored in the ramifications of me telling literally hundreds of people how shabby the treatment is.  Between me and all the people on this site who are also telling their friends about the bad service, I'll bet it adds up to a substantial amount of money.  Too bad there isn't a way to quantify this number, so that the people responsible to the idiotic policy can know what they have done.
