Apple iPhone 6 & 6 Plus Questions / Reservation numbers!.

Hello Everyone!

 

 

 

Once again i am making the iPhone Questions / Reservation thread!!!!! Apple just announced the new iPhone which is called iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus . The new iPhone's includes a bigger screen, different backing design, better camera & VoLTE & much much more. . This thread will be where you need to post questions & even your reservation numbers once Rogers announces it & puts it up. Please do NOT make another thread about reservation & or about the new iPhone . I would like to keep it as one thread & clean..I am sure getting the iPhone Plus !!!

 

 

 

1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the iPhone 6 to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Product & Services – Wireless & you will see a Red wording saying “Device Reservation" on the main page. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want " iPhone 6 / 6 Plus  16GB, 64G,128GB  " & the color of the device you want. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .

 

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.

- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.

- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.

- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.

 

 

2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.

 

 

3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level  on the account but some stores will decline it.

4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues  / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

 

 

 

Pre orders will come out Friday Sept 12th & Launch date is Next Friday Sept 19th. I am sure Rogers will follow those orders. As for the device orders & which models Rogers will get. I am sure Rogers will get botboth models like they did last year.

 

Also the prices for both phones are different. So if you are going to get the iPhone 6 Plus, it will be much higher price then the iPhone 6. Rogers will announce the phone prices within either today or  sometime before Friday!!!

 

 

Also remember please post anything related about iPhone 6 & 6 Plus in here please. I know this is a long thread to read, but read it before asking multiple questions in which have been already answered in this post ( if they have been answered on this post / thread). I will do my best like I have for the past 4 years of doing this to answer any questions you have about the reservations or device.

If Rogers calls me to come pick up my phone reservation and I tell them I don't want it anymore, will I still get my $40 refunded back to me?

The numbering system and status of your order is not to be trusted. (Shocking information by now, I know).

 

I pre-ordered a Silver 6+ 64GB on 6am on Sept. 12th and was number 185. This fell for about a week all the way to 135. Then on the 19th I seem to have just missed the shipping mark, and was shifted down to number 38. This remained for a week...dropping here and there due to cancellations.

 

The interesting, and typically Rogers, part comes after. My phone's status changed to IN PROGRESS on Sept. 25th...and subsequently never changed to SHIPPED. However, on Oct. 2nd I recieved a text saying my phone was shipped, but there was no email or tracking number etc. The store called the next day (exactly 2 weeks from launch) and I picked up my phone. Now YESTERDAY I get a shipping cofirmation via email, which states the phone is on it's way. It specified that I have until Oct. 10th to pick up the phone. What? I already have it, and they only just alerted me to that? Smart. Even better - the box my phone and speaker shipped in phyically said 'Hold until Oct. 8th". Whoa that seems like problem waiting to happen (as is everything Rogers). What if I went in on the 10th to get the phone? They would have already released it?

 

This whole experience has been a bit ridiculous from the start. For those still waiting for their order I do suggest the Apple store at this point, unless you think you're getting the speaker (which is of good quality). Rogers is messing everyone around with all kinds of terrible miscommunication, as you're all fully aware. Good luck. The phone is amazing though, and the 6+ is a perfect size. Hopefully you all get it soon.

Almost same situation here: I pre-ordered a Silver 6+ 64GB (exactly the same model) on Sept. 12th and was in the low 100s. My phone's status changed to IN PROGRESS on Sept. 25th too.

 

From that moment NO TEXT, NO EMAIL, NO CALLS, and, obviously, NO PHONE yet.

 

This is ridiculous. Is it really taking Rogers 2 weeks to ship my phone to a Rogers Plus store???

 

Unbelievable... 😞 😞 😞 😞 😞

Yes I know, and I'm glad that at least I have it now. I really don't understand why you haven't received yours, considering you were even lower than me in our original positions. The whole system is not very straight forward...and that's being polite about it.

 

When mine went to IN PROGRESS..and nothing happened for a week, I was really worried my phone was already in store, and by the time I found out...they would have released it. I wonder if that has actually happened to anyone. So many have been IN PROGRESS for longer than a week now? That doesn't seem right. I believe the idea that Rogers falsely moved orders to IN PROGRESS to deter people from buying elsewhere.

What a pathetic  Launch of the IPhone 6,

In 3 weeks my reservation has barely moved.

number 86 now , one per day latley, at this rate i will have it for christmas.

Do you think they make them and then put them in a box and ship them out one at a time? They make hundreds of thousands and ship out entire cargo planes full at a time. You realize they have already sold over 10 million phones right? that is 10 000 000 Try to just fathom how many phones that is. Humans have to make these phones, there isn't some machine that just pumps them out. Be patient it will be worth it in the end.

I have a sneaking suspicion Rogers is performing the old three-tier marketing strategy of (1) pass the buck ("It's Apple's fault"), (2) self-effacement ("Sorry, we know this can be frustrating"), and (3) when all else fails, ignore the problem and hopefully it'll go away. They should spend less time watching the "House of Lies" series and more time improving their customer service.

I've been stuck on Position 3 OPEN since September 25, 2014 ...

Nobody questions this part of the process. We're discussing the ethically questionable and poor planning procedure of an over-eager marketing strategy (i.e. the reservation fiasco). It kinda reminds me of contractors who overbook. Once they sucker you in, you wait months for the job to get done.

I don't mind waiting, as long as I am kept HONESTLY up-to-date of the situation.

 

It scares me when I hear people are getting notices that they must pick up their phone by a certain date or they lose thier reservation, yet their phone is not in store by that date.

 

No one will blame Rogers for what is clearly a supply issue on Apple's side.

 

But that doesn't mean Rogers doesn't need to respond to THEIR customers either!

 

Just keep us regularly, and honestly informed please!

 

The alternative is consant speculation/Rogers-bashing ...

So last thursday i received an email saying my phone was processed (activation) then shipped out the same day, i received it the following day!

 

however my second order (i have 2 phones on my account) which i was #5 in the Q i still haven't received and when i look on the reservation system it says processing (activation) since Oct 4th...boy that's 3 days of activating!

 

i think they've done that simply to move the Q along because it makes no sence that it's being activated for 3 days without it being shipped out...it's been a looooong process and perhaps there is lessons to be learned here for the next launch of a phone.

1)corp customers rank at the very bottom

2) pre registering is only available to make you feel like you're actually going to get something...but in reality it means nothing.

3) the only positive side is that i got to speak to someone who perhaps saved me money by reviewing my contact and matching the better offer i would have received at Telus.

4)when they screw up they should be held accountable and compensate you somehow if things don't happen the way they said they were going to.

 

in the mean time...........still waiting

I think a lot of people, while very much ready to have their phone on launch day, would've found it bearable to wait...had they some better confirmation from Rogers. Apple didn't supply enough stock from the get-go. That in itself is a 'huh?' situation, but everyone here can accept that as being a separate issue. Most people's issue has not been "Where is my phone?? Why isn't it in my hand right now!" It's more like "What is happening with my reservation? Is Rogers aware that I haven't been notified of xyz, yet others have" etc etc. Almost every complaint is about communication. I think everyone here has a right to be completely irritated with Rogers as a service provider - especially when THEY initiated the idea that they would be keeping everyone up to date regularly with emails. What a joke. If that wasn't doable, they shouldn't have made the claim. And THAT problem has very little to do with phones being mass produced or shipped individually.

Any idea how long the average time from "In Progress (Activation)" to "Shipped" is? What's with the delay? Do they wait for a whole bunch of activations to be accrued before shipping everything out? I understand that for shipments to stores, but what about corporate shipments which are shipped directly to you?

 

For the incredibly impatient of us out there, does anyone know if you can still go to a store to HUP if you are currently "In Progress (Activation)".

"soon" is a relative term ... I was hoping by this Thanksgiving weekend ... now maybe November 2014 ...

So there are still a lot of people with status In Progress/Activating/Shipped, but no phone?

Dropped another spot due to a cancellation.  Meow, any idea if there'll be a shipment this week for consumers?  Being at #49, I SHOULD be put in progress at the next ship...

Reserved a 6+ on Sept 12th at about 5 am and started at #582, to be delivered to Square One in Mississauga.

 

I have two phones/numbers, one for me, one for my wife. I got a 5c last Sept, she had my iPhone 4 (until she lost it in August). I reserved with her number (which I put on hold at $7/month, until we got a new phone). I work for a hospital in Toronto and have a corporate plan through them. I plan to use my old plan on the new phone and the new plan on the 5c, this should be doable considering I’m still paying for both plans just getting more data on the 6+.

 

After week one I was at 332, after week two I was 77, and then on Sept 28th I went to "in progress". Yesterday after becoming very inpatient I called Rogers. The message while on hold waiting for the business rep said that their reps didn't have any information regarding reservations, but I asked anyway. I was told that my reservation had been cancelled because I didn't use the business reservation site to reserve the phone!!! I used the "my Rogers" site. I Freaked!! I told the rep that I had reserved with my phone number which was on a business account (gov't). I told them about getting the progress emails and asked why I wasn't informed that my reservation had been canceled - No answer.

 

I then jumped on the net and found the phone at Future Shop about an hour from my house (in Orangeville). I called the store and the rep told me that they had a few 6+'s in SG. Then I went to the dentist, couldn’t really cancel. While in the waiting room I got an email from Rogers with the UPS tracking number. My phone had been delivered to Barrie!?

 

I really hope that Barrie has a distribution centre. The tracking number said that there were 7 parcels in the shipment.

 

Then later yesterday I got another email saying my account had been credited $40 for the reservation fee.

 

BTW I never received a text message.

 

I really hope it gets sent to Square One today or tomorrow.

 

This is crazy!
