Hey everyone!!

Once again its the time of the year that Apple announces their new iPhone line up. I am happy to announce That Apple this afternoon announced the Apple iPhone 7 / 7 Plus !. The device seem to have amazing specs! Including water resistant and most of all, new cameras and also including new chips and memory!



1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Apple iPhone 7/7 Plus to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Product & Services – Wireless & you will see a Red wording saying “Device Reservation" on the main page. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want; IPhone 7 / 7 Plus in any color and Black and what other colors they may release it on. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.


2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.


3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.

4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

I started @ 17 for 7 Plus RG 256gb then launch day, i went to 16, then 15 by end of launch weekend then it took and entire week to get to 14 mine still says open.  I have gone into 3 rogers store randomingly to ask if they had any instock. only 1 store asked if i had pre-ordered.  I was told by a rogers store that there wasnt going to be a shipment for 7 plus until Decemeber.  I prefer the good old days when there wasnt a reservation system and you had to actually go into the store on launch day to actually get the iphone.  Atleast then you knew they actually had the stock and if not then they usually got shipment within a few days and nobody was complaining about low stock or no stock.  I do not want to be waiting until December to get the phone i pre-ordered.

To be honest I rather the reservation system just shut down to watch the many complain that it went down and no one can order. Then I would show them that even when it was up, many still complained. No matter what everyone will complain. It's in their nature and bloodline BUT to be fair, many on here just want the device and don't need it as many have gotten the last year's model or other new phones from last year. I rather see the ones that Need the device get it first.


Also agreed it was fun when we used to line up at the store and see if they gt stock or not. That was fun.

I'm an upgrade not a new activation.  apparently the lines are different for upgrades and new activations. i've been with rogers for close to 20 yrs.  I would prefer to go thru apple but i dont want to have to update my plan which i fought to get back in may of this year.

You do realize that if your plan is not valid, you can't even upgrade at the store at the Rogers store or Apple store?. So you waiting for Rogers won't make a difference. Once you go in and they try to upgrade, the system will notify them that ur plan is not eligible and u need to change. So you need to call in and have them either change it or try to keep the same but have them see what they can do.

You need to buy an unlocked phone and keep your existing plan - that's the only way and what I had to do with the iPhone 6

Exactly. Going to the Rogers store or waiting for the reservation device because the plan will change at Apple will happen even at the Rogers store. @serena780 you need to call into Rogers and have them either change the plan around for u to upgrade or keep the plan and buy the device outright by Apple. Those are ur only choices. Unfortunately all carriers are doing this

I had an old "grandfathered Plan" back from when the first iphone was released with the $30 6gb data plan.  I then 4 yrs ago switched to android and have had numberous issues with each android phone i had.  I currently have a samsung s6 Edge 64 gb... nothing but issues since day one and since the new update even worse. I had gone to a rogers kiosk at the end of february just to inquire about when my contract would end when the sales person said i can make your plan $15 cheaper i'm ok how?... didnt explain nothing to me.  I did tell the sales person that i had a grandfathered plan that i wasnt willing to change/lose features on.  The person said it wouldnt change a single thing.  I still didnt authorize the sales person to make changes to my plan/account.  But the person still did and i lost 3/4 of the features on the grandfathered plan.  I went into my rogers plus store to complain and try to get my plan back but unfortunately they no longer offered my grandfathered plan.  The manager called loyalty for me and loyalty was only willing to offer me 5gb data which i refused as i liked having the 6gb data as a safety net.  it went back and forth for a month.  I even threatened to leave and checked all other carriers but nobody offered anything compareable to the grandfathered plan i had.  So then i went back to rogers plus store in may to try to get this settled.  plus store manager managed to contact the regional manager who was able to offer me the current plan i have share everything 7 gb data for the price i was paying for my grandfathered plan on a per year basis.  I still managed to get spotify free for 2 years with this new plan, which rogers still managed to charge me for for 2 months.

It's the per year basis that i'm hung up on. I know thru rogers i still keep my current plan and my price wont go up to the actual price of the share everything 7 gb data plan. I'm not so sure if i go thru apple.

Yes but just to be on the safe side, call Rogers and ask them if the plan is eligible to upgrade. If it is, ask them to leave a note on the account saying that and get the interaction ID number. Then u are fine. But if they tell u that it's not, then u will need to change or speak to retentions.

It should be eligible as the manager at the local rogers plus store assured me it is fine.  And its the share everything 7gb data plan that rogers currently has so it should be eligible.  I do not want to go thru loyality or retentions ever.  That was a nightmare.  Like i had said i had to fight with rogers just to get this current plan.  i'm going to have another fight on my hands with rogers just so they credit me back the 2 months of spotify that they charged me for that they shouldnt have.

Then if the manager told u, you should be fine going to Apple. They again use the same system Rogers does. So they will see it and it should work if the manager told u.

I have a amazing plan which i get 10GB,unlimited calling and texting in Canada, 500 Minutes US and 200 Minutes in Greece, Enhanced voicemail ans text voicemail, call display and all the other little goodies for less then $100 ( goes more then $100 with taxes). Got this plan last year from the loyalty department and works fine when upgrading

Mine is the share everything 7gb data with unlimited canada wide, unlimited international texting, call display and other goodies for under $100 as well then gst so its just over $100.  Loyalty was only willing to offer me 5Gb data even thou ive been with rogers for 20 yrs.

For those who have been following my story, it has finally come to an end.

I managed to reserve an iPhone 7+ Matte Black 256 gb at the Apple Store in Fairview Point-Claire (Quebec) for pickup tonight. The Apple Store specialist who helped me went through the process with me really smoothly!
He was able to renew my Rogers consumer account without any plan change without any problem. I was a bit hesitant as first because I had initially reserved a 128 gb and did not want to go for a 256 gb since 128 is plenty for me, but the price difference on contract was 100$... so might as well. Once I signed all the papers and walked out with iPhone 7+, I immediately cancelled my current reservation. Who knows how long I would have had to wait for? I did not have to pay anything upfront as it will be on my next invoice, I only purchased Apple Care which was 200$ for 2 years.

For those still looking to get their hands on a Matte Black 7+, the specialist told me there was still some available in the back in the 32gb and 256 gb sizes.. If you are quick enough on the reservation system you might get one!

Apple Care at $200? Jesus now Apple is ripping people off. Lol. So i am guessing ur upfront cost is $100 for Apple Care when u use it?

I hate to say this, u know u have an issue/problem when...... I know ppl are frustrated so am... I unfortunately am ready to drive over my current phone (have had battery life issues since I bought(samsung has said there is nothing wrong.... how can a phone go from 100% to 80% in a matter of 40 min without being used and all the battery saving tips have been done/put in place?)... now with 6.0.1 my notifications vibrating have stopped working... and the charging notification as well).... also it likes to delete random pictures from the camera file and texts as well..... so yes time to drive over this current phone and switch back to an iphone.

I never really got Apple Care + before as I always changed phones within a year. But I think I'll be keeping the 7+ for at least 2 years which is the term of the Apple Care. The cost was 169$ + tx which came to 194$. I was careful to ask what it covers and seeing as it covers up to 2 incidents, including full screen replacement for 40$, it's not too bad. Last time I chose not to get Apple Care on my 6 plus as I told myself, it's fine, I'll be careful.. I ended up dropping it accidentally on concrete and to replace the screen cost me around 180$. So I'm not taking risks this time! The good thing about this is that I was told that if I change phones within my Applecare coverage, even though I cannot transfer it, I can request a pro-rata refund according to how many months I've used it.

I was able to reserve iPhone 7 Jet Black 128GB for pickup today at 1:00pm at Apple Bayshore in Ottawa. I can see there are many iPhones 7 JB available for pickup across Canada now.
