Hey everyone!!

Once again its the time of the year that Apple announces their new iPhone line up. I am happy to announce That Apple this afternoon announced the Apple iPhone 7 / 7 Plus !. The device seem to have amazing specs! Including water resistant and most of all, new cameras and also including new chips and memory!



1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Apple iPhone 7/7 Plus to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Product & Services – Wireless & you will see a Red wording saying “Device Reservation" on the main page. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want; IPhone 7 / 7 Plus in any color and Black and what other colors they may release it on. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.


2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.


3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.

4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

I have said it about 3 times today lol. With so many posts, its bound u won't find it. Il see where they are.

Honestly i am tired of doing the waiting in line game for just a phone. Call me crazy but after 8 years of doing it, I got tired of it and I can wait a couple of days to get it. Now it's not the same for many but that's how I feel. Next year will be my last year of doing it.

Hey question... you seem to have had samsung and phone devices as I have ... How, or what is the best way for me to get all my contacts from my Note 5 to my Iphone 7+ ? I want to trade in my Note 5 and put that amount to my iphone upgrade tomorrow, but want to get all my contacts off it .. any recommendations? Thank you

There is a way of backing up ur device and have ITunes find that back up. I usually just use my Google email account and it syncs all my contacts. Thus when I out my Google email on my iPhone, it automatically syncs my contacts.

@Meowmix I completely agree. It is frustrating that they create this reservation if they cant keep up with a demand especially for the people whos numbers are 10 and up. I could understand if I was 25-50-100+ not getting one, but being #4 on the list, I find it absolutely retarded they can't get 4 of these to carriers.

Apple is known to so this with their launches.. I remember this happening with the Rose Gold Plus model and also the 6+ Plus last year. They do this for hype as well. Apple knows everyone goes crazy over their devices so they use that

I used to wait in line like you (I remember those years speaking with you on the forums like we still do now) but no longer wait in line and haven't in years. 

 

1G I bought of someone random from Craigslist the year it came out in the states (he bought in jersey) and I met him at Fairview mall. I was one of the first in Canada to have an iphone and wish I had kept that original iphone. 

 

I waited in line at Rogers King St. west for the 2g  6 years ago I believe and had issues upgrading in store due to Rogers software and walked out of the store phoneless that year.

 

Another year I waited in line at the Eaton Center kiosk for the 3g I believe and waited hours for activation to complete but got the phone that day. 

 

iPhone 4 and 5 I actually can't remember but must have gone smoothly. 

 

iphone 6 was smooth reservation as well. 

 

Not so much this year. Glad I pre-ordered from Apple a back up Black model (also have jet black but 1-3 weeks) to arrive tomorrow to my doorstep. 

 

I think I'm getting too old for this!!!!!!!

I was #68 for iPhone 7 128GB Jet Black and today I am down to #52 and still OPEN. Do you think they will ship mine tonight?

Rogers doesn't have control over what devices it gets. Even if Rogers is upset that Apple diverted jet black stock to the US, what really can it do? It definitely is an unfortunate situation. I've had every iPhone iteration as well and I think I've come to a point where I'll just get them whenever they're available lol. That being said I'm picking up a matte black tomorrow so I'm being a tad hypocritical lol.

Hope at least a fair amount of people can snag iPhones tomorrow.

I have to say this has been the oddest release I have been a part of...if something could have gone wrong, I think it did. I know it's only a phone, blah blah blah...it's also a principal though, it's a big letdown when you do everything you can to follow whatever process you have to follow and still end up getting shot in the foot. We say every year that the reservation process needs to firm up a little, and it seems this year it digressed moreso than in previous years.

 

Yes I was fortunate enough to reserve a model that had more stock than some of the others, doesn't make me feel any better about the situation as a whole. I've spent 3 days jibbering with all of you and none of us deserve the frustration a lot of you have dealt with 'just a phone' or not.

 

Here's to hoping that everyone that reserved, upgraded, consumer or business gets what they want sooner rather than later. I can't wait to hear everyones opinion on what they think of their shiny new iphones when you end up getting it.

 

Thanks to @Meowmix for hosting once again, your patience and knowledge astounds us all and we cannot thank you enough. Next time I'm in Toronto we should airdrop hahaha

 

To the rest of you...whether it be a phone, or whatever, if you want it, don't stop until you get it!

 

I'll check in tomorrow morning to hopefully hear some more positive messages

As much as I am probably going to prefer to keep the matt black i7 that arrives tomorrow from Apple in the end (normally around 11am UPS delivers each year) knowing the jet black that Rogers cancelled on me is probably not the phone physically for me based on Apple's disclaimer (I don't use cases), I am still dissapointed in how Rogers is handling the situation of cancelling the jet blacks on people with no warning, not even explaining the situation to their own staff.  

 

I get it is not their fault that Apple diverted stock back, but Rogers is responsible for making it right in my mind. That's why we pay them $100 each month for our cell phone, because we expect the best service.

 

Retail/customer service/etc. is becoming VERY challenging out there, you have to be ahead of the curve, especially with an economy that will be going back into recession (Canadians debt is increasing insanely fast) you need to maintain your clients and keep them happy because soon we'll be cutting costs and spending less.

 

Not saying Rogers will file for chapter 11 like many other retailers lately (Golf Smith/Golf Town, Aeropostatle, etc) but I'm just saying Rogers needs to make this right, even if it isn't 'their fault', they are still held accountable in the consumers eyes for promising phones for people who reserved, plain and simple. 

 

I won't be surprised if they just re-reserve my jet black and put me at the bottom of the list, telling me it'll be a few weeks. 

 

I'll probably get a $10/month credit or something for the next year or so to make up for it, lol. Your move Rogers.

When do Rogers stores normally get delivery of pre-order/reserved devices? If my local store opens at 10 AM, are they likely to recieve it by that time?

It all depends on the UPS or Canada Post truck when it comes to each store.. No one has this answer other then the stores and even they don't have the correct answer.

When posting that your status changed to SHIPPED, please also make sure u write "My number WAS". Once u go IN PROGRESS u lose the number u had and goes to someone else. This can cause a confusion.
