I'll ask, but not going to force them to do anything. 🙂
One note, my friend did the update via Kies and not OTA as when he checked for an OTA update, he didn't get notified there was an updated.
I would have assumed that Jelly Bean would take LTE networks into account. Lets hope that LTE is still up and that this just needs a simple patch to correct the notification area.
The S Planner issue appears to go deeper than I thought. I downloaded Google Calendar and it has the same behaviour. New events do not get saved. I'll have to delve into Kies when I get home and see if I can backup my calendar data and then do a reset. I set the app to sync with Google, but events are not showing up on the web calendar, so I'm beginning to wonder whether the database became corrupted during the OS upgrade.
i got my Jellybean update ota on monday, but now my face unlock option is gone and rogers won't take any responsiblity
You do realize that not everything is Rogers fault right?.... MAYBE Samsung Canada took it down. No one knows until Samsung Canada or Rogers says anything. Also the reps at the store & over the phone have no idea about what happens in the back with the updates. All they know is the updates get pushed out.
In the end, this update has had a few things that have been taken out. It make come with another update OR they may leave this the way it is.
thank you, my mistake. I just assumed that samsung released the update to Rogers, then Rogers did what ever they do before releasing it to the general public.
i have been in constant contact with both rogers and samsung. rogers has finally said that due to the high number of calls about losing LTE issue, they have now passed this on to "tier 2" tech support who are currently working on it with an estimated time frame of a week.
samsung has so far told me to do a factory reset which has done nothing to fix this issue, and now told me to contact their mobile specialists who are at this time not open. i will call them tomorrow during their business hours and see what they say about this. the live chat agent at samsung said surely the mobile specialists team will get to the root of the problem. we shall see...
So I did a speed test in an area of the GTA where I got LTE speeds before. I got 22mbs so that is easily considered LTE speed.
I don't think anyone has anything to worry about, their internet connections aren't slower because of this update.
I still contend it's an unnecessary confusion BUT you could say labeling outlying areas that don't have LTE as 4G is slightly somewhat dishonest. 3G/H+ is more honest.
I suppose this is much ado about nothing.
I'm still curious what people think about Google Now. I still don't have more than just cards following the Leafs, Weather and Traffic to get home. That's hardly revolutionary. I'm looking forward to getting a card based on what Google learns about me.
I see the same as everyone else with regards to the LTE, but to me that is a non-issue. More importantly to me is the battery drain issue. It my completely non-scientific method, my battery life is at least 40% less than with ICS. I have the double battery in mine, and I can go from 100% to 40% in 4 hours of it sitting on my desk and me checkiong emails once an hour.
Anyone else experiencing a drastic change in battery life?
On a separate note, can I go back to ICS? If so, how?
