Amount of time taken to have SIM card re-registered?

I re-registered the SIM card from my cell phone and registered online for pay as you go (I had this but haven't used the phone for about a year, which is I'm assuming why the SIM card was no longer showing as registered and had to be re-registered). I completed the registration and purchased a pay as you go plan online this weekend, however my phone is still showing as "SIM not registered" and I have spent an hour this morning on hold with Rogers trying to find out when my phone should be registered -- I never did get to talk to anyone. Does anyone have any idea how long the registration process should be taking?

Once I got a representative on the phone it was nearly instant once they pushed the button.  Try calling mid afternoon on a weekday, the wait times are shorter.
