Adding Nexus 5X or 6P to a Share Everything plan - Question about tab savings - Adding other users

Adding Nexus 5X or 6P to a Share Everything plan - Question about tab savings - Adding other users

A family member has an iPhone, and has had a non-sharing Rogers plan for a few years.
After a switch to the Share Everything plan, I'd like to get a smartphone, and use it under the plan.

I'm looking at the following Share Everything plan:

500MB
Unlimited Canada-Wide Calling
Unlimited Messaging

The plan starts at $75.

I look to add the 6P to the plan.
You can get the $700 phone for $100 If you sign to a two-year term.
That's a saving of $600.
However, you then have to pay an extra $10 a month for the length of the term?
(10 x 24 months = 240)
(Smart tab or Premium tab?)
600-240 = 480 Savings?

If I were to bring in a purchased device like a 5X, there would be no benefits?

But then what If a third person comes into the plan, and wants a smartphone?
The one monthly 75 payment only reduces one phone cost (Nexus 6P), so it would be best for the third device, and any additional devices to be bought outright?
Are there any added costs for adding the third device if bought outright?

---

Edit: a forum post is mentioning something like an additional $40/month for another line and device?
Is there a link to this info?

For the already-on-Rogers IPhone, and incoming 6P, is monthly cost then:
75 (500mb Canada-wide) + 10 (6P tab) + 40 (add line for 6P) for 2 years?
After 12 months, premium tab is gone?:
75 (500mb Canada-wide) + 40 (add line for 6P)

Re: Adding Nexus 5X or 6P to a Share Everything plan - Question about tab savings - Adding other use

Hello @JeffKang

Yes you can start with just the main line & then add additional lines at a later time.

You wouldn't be tacking tabs on top of each other. Each line would have their own seperate device balance/tab (should you chose tabs on the other lines). They would all be a part of the Share Everything plan

The pricing does not automatically change when the contract is up. If you don't end up upgrading when your contract is over you can review the current plan options at that time.Smiley Happy

Re: Adding Nexus 5X or 6P to a Share Everything plan - Question about tab savings - Adding other use

Hi @JeffKang

Thanks for posting on the Community Forums! Smiley Happy

The pricing for an additional line at $40 is for talk and text only. If you're looking to get premium tab for your additional line with talk, text and data, the price would be $65 monthly on your Share Everything plan.

If you would like to go over the pricing in detail and make the changes, please send us a private message to @CommunityHelps the next time you are online and we can assist.

Re: Adding Nexus 5X or 6P to a Share Everything plan - Question about tab savings - Adding other use

Someone is already on a grandfathered Rogers plan, and has an iPhone.

There would be a switch to:

Share Everything
500MB
Unlimited Canada-Wide Calling
Unlimited Messaging

Build-your-plan says that the person will pay $75?

What happens if a line is added for a person that comes later?
I'm not talking about two accounts and two payments of $75.
It's two devices under one Share Everything plan.
One device is already bought (iPhone), and the second device to be added later is a Nexus 6P.

1) What's the cost of bringing a second device if it's already purchased.
1 Share Everything plan
Bought device + Bought device

2) Since the iPhone is already bought, can you use the premium tab on the Nexus 6P, and add the tab to the single $75 payment?
1 Share Everything plan
Bought device + (partially bought premium tab contract)

Re: Adding Nexus 5X or 6P to a Share Everything plan - Question about tab savings - Adding other use

Hello @JeffKang,

In response to your inquiries:

1. If you plan on sharing the Data, then the plan should be $75 Main line + $55 No Tab Addition Line. If you just want to share the Unlimited Canada Wide Talk and Text portion, then the Addition line will only be $40.

2. If you bring over a device that is currently on a Tab, then the Tab will simply carry over. In the case of the partially paid off Nexus 6P, the monthly rate will be $65 for the Premium Tab Pricing.

Like @RogersPrasana previously mentioned, if you would like to go over the pricing in detail and make the changes, please send us a private message to @CommunityHelps the next time you are online and we can assist.

Re: Adding Nexus 5X or 6P to a Share Everything plan - Question about tab savings - Adding other use

Thanks for the info.

Couple last questions:

1) The switch to the Share Everything plan might happen first, and adding the line might occur later on.

Can you start the premium tab when the line is added?
75 for a while, and then 55 + 10 later on.

If more devices are added later, can you tack on tabs to those also.
Multiple two-year contracts (55 + 10s) being started at different times all under one Share Everything plan?
Or is it 1 tab contract  per main line and plan?

2) Could be a stupid question, but it's 65 for 2 years, right?
Goes back to 55 after the contract is up?
