60$ BYOD 10 Gig promotional plan

Leto85
I Plan to Stick Around

Hey Guys,

Can anyone please confirm the specifics of this promotional wireless plan?  I switched to it last night and I got through to a rep this morning after a lengthy wait but they were not able to confirm if the extra 5 gigs stays on after 2 years or not.  The website I read had screenshots confirming that the 10 gigs is now a perm feature and does not drop off after 2 years.  How can I tell that they added this to my account properly and after 2 years I won't go back to 5 gigs.

Hello @weddingbox

Then call into Rogers, wait the time and speak to someone and get it changed.

If u aren't looking for this plan, the go through @CommunityHelps and see what they can do.

Re: 60$ BYOD 10 Gig promotional plan

Hi,

I tried calling multiple times and couldn't get in.  One time I had been on hold for 3+ hrs and then the line got disconnected... on Rogers side.

I think that's reason enough to move to another Carrier.  I realize this isn't Roger's fault.   They didn't plan for this so I hope they can do something about this.

Hello @polythenepacket

Unfortunately they pulled all their staff to come into work the past 2 days which are the on vacation already. They can't call anyone that's on vacation status either. So yes they have everyone they can working. Unfortunately didn't know that. With hundreds calling into Rogers the wait times will be higher than expected. Many should understand that. Live Chat was taken down due to the amount of people waiting for more then 5-6hrs at a time and at that point of u lose connection on ur wireless phone, tablet or computer it would just exit.

If they were making change while the line dropped, they should have been able to finish before moving to the next customer.

Hello @kenmasters

To be honest switching to another carrier won't do much. They will have the same service as Rogers. Why don't u guys go look on the other carriers Facebook pages, reviews and seem hundres are having the same issue as u guys are now. So in the end they all have the same issue.

U can go to another carrier if u like however it won't do much. U will get what I want for a couple months or year then boom u will have similar issues.

Believe me i know

Re: 60$ BYOD 10 Gig promotional plan

Thanks Meowmix.  I think switching isn't about getting "better service".   It's about reacting to a bad experience.  Maybe in another year I would switch again.  But I have the right to do so.

If it matters, my friend at TELUS waited for 2hrs and got in.   Not much better, but compared to 3+ hrs and being disconnected is still a lot better.  3 hours of my time should be considered valuable.

Hello @kenmasters

I am with Telus and yes its a 2-3hr wait for them as well. Yesterday i waited for 4hrs to get to someone to check back on a phone i returned to them.

In the end they are all the same. To be honest no carrier is perfect. Howerever i think Rogers nor any carrier realized the huge impacted this plan had

Re: 60$ BYOD 10 Gig promotional plan

I can't even connect to a hold queue on the phone. Been trying since Saturday and it's always just straight up busy. The stores also said they "can't" do the changes and you have to call in...

At least if I walk into a bell store, they'll give me the time of day. I know the reply on here is more or less 'if you're not willing to wait, then you don't deserve the promo' but how many hours am I suppose to spend to even connect to the wait system?

Hello @Echidnadsn

Most likely they were told the stores won't do it just in case the systems crash and have a outage causing a huge headache.

The extended the plan until tonight so hopefully u get it!

Re: 60$ BYOD 10 Gig promotional plan

I'd hope the changes were made, but my past experiences with Rogers have made me distrustful. I'm finally no longer getting a busy signal but there's a 2-3 hour wait. This is ridiculous.

Hello @polythenepacket

Yeah i agree i had the same issue once with Rogers. The line got cut and the rep did not call back or change anything. Happened again but the rep did it. So i wonder if the reps are told to just go on to the next person in line.

I agree that the lines are ridiculous

I was on hold for 1 hour and 33 minutes this morning and my call was randomly disconnected, anything you can do to help?

Hello @qwikdraw22

Unfortunately the only way to get this plan is by calling in again and trying to get through. Live chat, Facebook are down and the stores will not accept to do the changed. So ur only chance again is calling in.

wow that's brutal, it wasn't even a disconnect from my end - the music stopped playing, it was a long pause and then went out.  This is after I waited over half an hour in the store yesterday only to be told I couldn't be helped because I have a business account - ridiculous

Hello @qwikdraw22

Most Rogers stores do not accept or handle Business accounts. This is due to the security and all for those plans.

AS for this. Sadly this is the only thing that can work. Other carriers seem to be able to do this in store.

Hello @Damackz

I do believe so however this plan is only for a NO TERM / NO CONTRACT. Its also available for plans that bring ur own device.

You would need to see as some with contracts have been turned down. You also may have to pay a cancellation fee in order to get this plan.

"Offer ends December 18, 2017 and is subject to change. Available to customers activating or upgrading to a no-term $60 5GB non-share plan with unlimited Canada-wide calling, unlimited messaging, Roam Like Home, caller ID, name display and enhanced voicemail. Available to new or existing customers who activate or upgrade to a non-share line on an eligible plan. Connection fee of $25/line applies to activate your services. Early cancellation fees apply."

Re: 60$ BYOD 10 Gig promotional plan

i did not get a text message saying that the extra 5gb will be permanent. I too changed mine online and screen captured the 5gb + 5gb bonus. However, when logged into my account, it says 5gb no tab. What is the best way to clarify that I indeed do have the 10gb?

Hello @jerresistible

Its a 5GB plan however they add another 5GB as a bonus.

"5GB+ 5GB Non-shared Plan - $60+ taxes

5GB data bonus is applied immediately at time of activation.

I had a 10GB data package and got another 4GB data for free for 24months. The plan it self showed 10GB but when u go into Rogers - My Rogers - Account number - Manager my add ons OR Check Data it should show there.

It would be great if you could even get through to the automated system, all I get is a busy signal.  I don't mind waiting on hold but you can't even get through to get on hold.   Bell it is I guess.

Hello @mx3man123

Believe me i know. Even Telus is bad at 3hr wait and i got this right now on their live chat.

" All of our agents are currently serving other customers. There are 293 people ahead of you in the queue."

So it seems like a long wait for everyone.
