Hey Guys,

 

Can anyone please confirm the specifics of this promotional wireless plan?  I switched to it last night and I got through to a rep this morning after a lengthy wait but they were not able to confirm if the extra 5 gigs stays on after 2 years or not.  The website I read had screenshots confirming that the 10 gigs is now a perm feature and does not drop off after 2 years.  How can I tell that they added this to my account properly and after 2 years I won't go back to 5 gigs.

That is with Rogers. He went with Bell which i guess is letting them do it over chat. He does not have a Bell account until he did the transfer

It does not work. They turned it off and give u a message to call into Rogers. That is the only way to get it with Rogers.

Also anyone trying to log it may see the " Down due to Maintenance" issue.

@mbp12 I switched from Rogers to Bell. I was tired of calling and getting hung up on so I contacted Bell online through their chat and got through within 30 mins. They agreed to do everything and waive all fees. So they won my business.

You need to contact Rogers and se if u do. That may be hard at the moment but contact @CommunityHelps and see.

I have tried to call Rogers all day, waiting nearly 3hrs, to be just disconnected from Rogers. Taking my business some place else.

Make sure you do your research. All carriers are the same but many others have had similar issues as Rogers customers do.

this plan is crazy, all the carriers are being overloaded with calls/chats. Even http://www.howardforums.com is down!

Yes that is correct as per what MobileSyrup and others have posted as well. Seems like all carriers are having major issues with adding this plan or even customers getting into contact with them. Some seem lucky though! 

As for Howardsforum i am able to log into my account and post. So do not know how its down.

Either way. This plan indeed is crazy.

@Rabiash Just move to whoever gets back to you first assuming they cover where you live and your phone can be used with them. I bought my phone online last year from China so it's not tied to any carriers. The plans are all the same from my understanding. The only difference is that Rogers drops the 10gb to 5gb after 2 years. This was confirmed by a friend of mine who managed to get through today online with Rogers. If you go to their complaints section and choose live chat from there someone will get back to you but it will likely take 45 mins to an hour.

That is not correct at all. Rogers will NOT drop the 5GB extra data after 24month. RogersCorey on here was able to confirm this to someone else.

@Meowmix well my plan isn't a $50 plan.
Shouldn't it just be accurate and say 10gb for $60?
Im concerned that the 5gb "bonus" may eventually be taken away from me by rogers

Yes but some reps are using a different code / plan to do it as the other plan may not be on their page at the time or not working.

i would suggest calling into Rogers early AM and see.

@Meowmix if it doesn't drop Lance should not have given that info out in a chat with my friend online after he filled out the complaint. He has the chat logs to prove it. Supposedly this may have changed sometime this evening as another person I know got through and heard that 10gb doesn't drop to 5gb. With that said there shouldn't be so much misinformation coming from Rogers to it's customers.

I agree that Rogers reps are giving out wrong however at this moment and current info is that the 10GB stay as long as u do NOT change the plans around. Rogers also made this clear to MobileSyrup

" Update – 17/12/17: Rogers has expanded its offering past the 24-month data end date to have no expiring in the 10GB data promo. A text message to customers notes: “Great news about the plan that you recently purchased! We have upgraded this promotion. You originally signed up for a 5GB plan with a 5GB bonus for 24 months. So after being hung up on twice after waiting an hour plus both times today I'm really upset!  Now I call and it's telling me Rogers is closed???  Anyone know what's going on here or is it really just time to call Bell.

The system most likely crashed hense why the " Rogers is closed" line. Mine tells me that they are busy and hung up.

Their systems are failing / failed.
