I will call Rogers again.
But might wait till Feb 2013 - for the Wireless code of conduct being held by the CRTC

I got the exact same promotion. She said 79.99, plus a $35 registration fee, but when it went trough the agent's computer the latter didn't show up, thus I only ended up paying $40.37 AFTER the $50 rebate.

How many months were left on your contract if you dont mind me asking?

@Meowmix
Ok.. I just called back in today and confirmed my deal.
$79.99 minus $50.00 mail-in rebate = $29.99
Plus taxes = $39.58 (since I had to pay full tax on the pre-rebated price)
All fees waived.
Plus I have a valid tracking number for my phone.

Coan, I think I had about 5-6 months left on my voice, and 1.5 years on my data left. This was since my last HUP back in the day.
And although I retained my plan, the cancellation fees have been moved over to the newer policies, so it makes sense that it is an attempt to get rid of a lot of us still on the older policies.
