Pairing Apple Watch SE with Family Sharing

How do I find out (before I buy) if I will be able to pair an Apple Watch SE to my phone? Can I set up my child’s Apple Watch SE (he doesn’t have his own phone) to my account as family sharing?

Extremely frustrating to learn that Rogers does not offer the feature to setup Apple Watch for family. I purchased my son's watch for exactly this purpose.

Promising update - but without official acknowledgement the joke continues that Canada's "best and most modern" carrier has gone 5+ years without support for a basic Apple Watch feature.... Bell and Telus got this up and running right away.

To be fair, the Bell/Telus network which supports this feature uses different technology - I suspect there is a larger infrastructure reason that Rogers can’t offer it (yet…or ever)

If Roger’s is considered one of the main cell phone providers why in earth is this still not available?
