It was a waste. I was (and still am) #1 in queue as a business customer and my pre-order is still in "open" status. This confirms that the change in the position number is due to cancellations and that no business customer has received a 64gb Silver XS Max. Not surprised, as this happens every year to business customers.
I ended up cancelling my pre-order ship to home method. it took quite a lot to actually cancel the order from Rogers reps but in the end, got it done. I had pre-ordered the 256gb silver iPhone xs Max. however, a buddy of mine mentioned that he noticed online that all the apple stores in the GTA have plenty of stock on all iphone xs max options and colours. i actually just picked up my new xs Max from them. so if you really want the phone and paid outright for it like i did, it's best to check out what apple has.
@itzyabooyyy you can also do a carrier upgrade at the Apple store. So it's not totally necessary to pay full pop for the phone at Apple.
For anyone that's been waiting and are remotely close to an Apple store it's a no brainer to get it from them
I did a test order again on https://secure.rogersdirect.ca/ for a Xs Max 64GB grey. The queue status seems accurate because the new order placed me at 39/39, and my 1/38 switched to 1/39. So at this point Rogers didn't skip anyone, it's really a bunch of people canceling, and that Rogers really have no stock for Xs Max 64GB grey at all for https://secure.rogersdirect.ca/ users at all.
As a reminder, I used https://secure.rogersdirect.ca/ because it lets me keep my plan as-is, and is a corporately paid plan (work pays my monthly plan). https://secure2.rogersdirect.ca/ is for a discounted, employee paid plan (I pay monthly) and I had to change my monthly plan to the current offerings.
