Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Apple iPhoneXs / Xr and Xs Max to the reservation list & the day comes follow the steps below to reserve the new device! The devices will include 3 devices, new color options and bigger displays!

How to reserve if you’re an existing customer:

8. Select a store to pick up your phone.

9. Review the reservation details and click I AGREE to accept the Terms and Conditions.

10. Click Reserve to complete the reservation. A store representative will call you when the device is ready for pick-up.

Online Statuses

Keeping you up posted along the way

  1. You’ll receive the following confirmations:

  3. Weekly status emails confirming you number in line on the waiting list

  4. An email when the device has been shipped to the store. (Includes a delivery tracking number)

  5. Phone call from a store representative when the device is ready for pick-up

Good things to know

  1. Phone can only be reserved, not purchased ( The purchase of the device will be done in store)

  2. You can change the pick-up location when the online order status is open. If the order status is in progress or shipped, the location cannot be changed

  3. Shipments typically take up 4 days, and your device is held in store for 3 days ( The delivery can be next day in most cases)

  4. If you don’t pick up your phone within 3 days, the reservation will be cancelled and be sold to a walk in customer. You can make alternate arrangements with the store manager if need be.

  5. Only the account holder or an authorized level 1 user (someone authorized to make changes on the account) can pick up the phone. Photo ID is required when picking up the phone.

  6. If a reservation was made to a location that is now closed, We’ll send the device to the closest Rogers store or authorized dealer in the area. The new store will contact you when the device arrives and is ready for pick up.

Reservation Fee

What about this $40 reservation fee? Will it be returned to me?” You betcha. You’ll get a credit of $40 (+ taxes) for the reservation fee on your account if you reserved as an existing customer or to the original credit card if you reserved to activate a new line. Your reservation fee will be credited when:

  1. Your phone ships from our warehouse or

  2. You cancel your reservation online.

Before you go to the store to pick up your new phone, why not get a quote for your old phone and trade it in for a credit!

Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.

.For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confuses about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

They also started last year a pre ordering system done online being charged on your CC ( Credit card) imminently and having the device shipped to your home instead. 2 years ago with the iPhone 7 / 7 Plus and last year with the 8 &8+ with the X the ones that picked this way got it the day of launch or day after launch but only a few did. Not everyone. This way is a good way but sadly u do not see any status updates like u do with the reservation system and only get a confirmation email and a shipment email. ( some did not get any email until the unit got shipped with QMS or UPS). Please do remember. Using the SHIP TO HOME option does NOT give u any insight of updates or status. You will only get notified when it ships out.

now its alot to read at the moment but i am trying to cover all the bases for everyone so everyone knows how the reservation works and what they need to know! as always do not be afraid to ask any question you have as I or any other member will answer it for you. I will do my best and answer all questions Cat Happy

Ok, so if I decide I’d like to “exchange” the phone, is that a possibility through the Apple store or Rogers?

Hello @Ducker

Yes you can once you receive the device. You will have to go straight to the store and do it when you get it.

They will have to reverse the upgrade and then do a new upgrade with the new device.

You have 15 days to do the return the device in the condition you Recieved it in. ( no damage and no missing accessories that came with it).

@PhiliPhone: I was informed by a Roger's rep today that I will need to pay the unsubsidized portion upon pickup of the phone. This applies to the Apple store or at a Rogers. They used to charge it to your next bill but not anymore.

Hello @saupaui

Yes that is correct. All stores require this. Even Apple

The unsubsidized portion is the new device price.  It's the same thing.

Didn't this change like 2 years ago (that you now have to pay for the device cost up front)?

example : $599 device cost plus $900 subsidy = $1499 (retail cost of iPhoneXYZ at Apple)

Previous tab/device balance of say $200.

When you pick up the phone in store you'd pay the $599 plus tax up front.

You'd be billed $200 plus tax on your next invoice to pay off the subsidy of your prior phone

Your new device balance would now be $900 (subsidized portion) and would be depleted over the course of 24 months in equal monthly installments.

Hello @nasa25

I'm way to tired right now to know the difference 🤣🤣.

Yes it is. All carriers require you to pay upfront the new device price when doing a new activation or upgrade.

Yup what you said was correct

Advertised/subsidized cost paid up front

Old device balance charged to your account

First signs of movement. #19 for a Xs Max 64 grey just went into “progress”. Could be looking good for Friday. Case and Ballistic Glass ready as well.

My status for the Gold Xs Max 256 Gb just changed to "In Progress" from "Open". I was originally #33 in the queue when I reserved but it went down to 29 earlier today.

Same here! Moved from Open to In Progess this morning, and was at #86 last night for a Gold Xs Max 256Gb

Hello @inferno129

Its been like this since September 2016. That's when all carriers changed it to this method.

Unfortunately in order to get the decide in store you will need to pay upfront for the new device price.

Who is on a Rogers business/corporate account and preordered using https://secure.rogersdirect.ca? My status is still "Open".

Hello @rageguy

Your status won't change the same time consumer ones will. I noticed with some reservations threads I have made that most business customers get their device a day or days later. It could change this year but we shall see

@rageguy

I have a small business account and my status still says "open" as well!

Hopefully we'll get to see an update soon!

@Meowmix absolutely not since that time, got this iphone 7 plus on oct 2 2016 and nor me or anyone else in the line except new customers, had to pay anything up front.

at least the rep i got was actually helpful and understanding of how much of a garbage silent move that was and assisted me in getting a refund on my bill back to my bank (as my bill has a negative balance, i put extra on it in preparation for having the upgrade ON THE BILL... now i need it back in hand..)

has anyone had a "hardware upgrade loyalty offer" or know what it is? the rep said theres a note on my account about it and i should bring it up in store to "see if i can get it applied to preorders..

There really isn't a big difference between paying for the device upon pickup or adding to the bill and paying next month? Put it on a credit card and pay that off next month. Or if money is tight perhaps keep existing device.

Hello @inferno129

It was only for selected stores and they tested it ( soft launch basically) .. Since I got the Note 7 in August and had to return it and got the iPhone 7 Plus on September. I was told by the Office of the President and the store manager that the rules changed and had to pay upfront now. So yes rules changed them.. Maybe you were lucky but not all of us and I doubt the OOP would lie...

I posted this on January 2017 when Mobilesyrup spotted it. However selected stores started doing this as of September 2016. It was a test trial to see how many will go. Then the Rogers document came out.

Why don't you call and speak to a manager and they can explain to you what it means before hand?. I had one with Telus ( offered me to upgrade and waive me $495 device balance).. So it could be the same or a plan.. Best to call and ask.

Hello @JeromeM

Exactly. Some don't do research so they wouldn't know or even know rules changed. I even posted this back in 2017 February when Mobilesyrup posted it. However the stores started doing it way earlier then that. ( only selected stores in September 2016).

Unfortunately they have to pay the device price upfront to do upgrades. Bell, Telus, Fido, Koodo, Virgin and even the smaller ones do this since last year.

Hello @Ducker

If you want to return the phone back ( if you did a pre order with Rogers) you will need to return it back to Rogers and they have to reverse the upgrade on the account. Then you can head over to Apple and do the upgrade there if they have the phone u want.

You can't return a phone you got from Rogers to Apple. All returns or exchanges have to be done at the location you got the phone from. Even if u do a ship to home order, it has to be returned back to Rogers first. If the Rogers store has the memory you like, they will still have to do a return of the device u have and redo the upgrade.
