My rogers reservation system wouldnt work for me, after 1 week of changing settings, dropping msd codes and adding them back, they placed the preoder for me on the 10th, 7 days after I started my reservation attempts. I was 158.

I called yesterday for the status as i havent heard anything, and they said the order was held pending employee verification.

Point is, i had I not called in, I wouldn't have known the order was held. I was also advised that the Gear VR may not be available as a heads up. I told them if I don't receive it, you'll get your phone back!

I understand your frustation but How is it Rogers fault if they don't have the Gear VR in stock and waiting for it?.. Samsung has posted that the Gear VR is also in back order and can take a couple of weeks to get it. So orders that have been put through will get one but in a later date. All u need to do is have a manager write it on the account and there u go

You can send the phone back but it clearly does state "while quantities last" on the website when it was up. Even Pre orders with Samsung & Best Buy are having the same issue. 

 

If Business & Corporate customers are not getting the Gear VR for free thats another story then.

How is it my fault if I spent a week trying to reserve a device? Isn't supposed to be simple, instead of one problem after the other--no fault on my end! That wasted week when I could have been in queue could very well be the reason I don't get a VR set (as supplies are limited).

 

Any company says that promotional supplies are limited, its suggested by lawyers so they don't have to compensate you if you don't get the gift with purchase. If I am promised one by manager, I'll keep the phone. 

 

The point is, its been a really bad process. No customer should spend over 3 hours on live chat and telephone to get an upgrade. I'm the very first to recommend Rogers to anybody, but this was a gong show. Only one rep was accountable and that was the one who updated my order instead of taking my information and promising to fix it later, which is why I'm still a customer.

No one is blaming you. The system didn't let u due to some issues. That's all.

Remember this gift is straight from Samsung and not Rogers. Samsung Canada and Samsung worldwide made this gift for free. So they do have right to limitet stock and carriers can't really do much sadly.

If you speak to a manager and they can promise you one, have them write it down on the account and get the Interaction ID number. That is the best.

Again i understand your frustration and see where you are coming from as i was once in your spot. Try speaking to a manager and see.

Yes, I know the gift with purchase is Samsung's doing. I'm not even upset or anything, just surprised how flawed this experience was. Imagine how devistating this experience would be for someone who hasn't worked in the telecom industry like my Mom or my Wife. They would have heart attacks lol.

 

Anyways, still looking forward to that sweet device. Can't come soon enough.

Yeah i agree with you.

Unfortunately my S7 edge and many units in the state are flawed with a issue. The SD card notification issue. It seems to be a hardware issue but many don't know about it. Search it and see. The notification comes on my edge every hour and even if I turn off the system notification and all it still comes on. So this issue is really annoying lol. None of the fixes people post work and still it's there

Wow that would be beyond annoying! Try dipping it in Champagne? Haha. 

 

This looks isolated to the Edge, hopefully the S7 isn't affected although its likely. Arrgh. First batch of anything electronic can be risky.

Yeah i hope so!. Honestly i just reformatted my SD card. I have a 128GB Samsung SD card so hopefully it fixes but doubt it.

Actually now that you've brought it up, any recommendations for a micro SD card? 128GB is a good size but any other specs like speed or manufacturer to look for? Thanks!

Honestly i am using a Samsunf 128GB memory card which is quick and fast.


Also i seen on Mobilesyrup that the gold S7 and S7 edge will be released at the end of this month BUT there is a " However, we are also hearing that there is a “global shortage” of the Galaxy S7 edge, so finding this gem might be a challenge."

So it's kinda weird
