Hey everyone!!

 

I am happy to announce that Samsung this morning announced the Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge!. Both device's seem to have amazing specs! Including memory SD card slot, water resistant and more!! 

 

 

 

1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Samsung Galaxy S7 &S7 Edge to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Product & Services – Wireless & you will see a Red wording saying “Device Reservation" on the main page. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want; Samsung S7 Black, S7 Silver or S7 Edge Black. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.


2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.


3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.

4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

 

EDIT - As of tomorrow February 22nd the reservations system will open for us to reserve the device!. There is no time unfortunately.

@Meowmix I got access to my buisness account online and I checked my status and it currently is in progress activations since Saturday. Any idea what's going on with this?

It means that they are still activating the phone and IMEI number on the account. Sundays they usually don't work. Should change tonight or tomorrow morning.

i did, since i don't use rogers for my mobile phone, i used my home phone line to call em, n they said they didnt know what's going on... besides, i called in the store who told me they haven't received any order yet... seems like there's nothing i can do but wait cuz i haven't even had the UPS # yet...

I received my tracking number on Friday, however it has not been picked up by UPS. Just says ready for UPS. When should this ship out? And when does UPS do their pickups at the Rogers shipping centre in Mississauga?

Their shipping location isn't in Mississauga. It's in Toronto. If they haven't been picked up then they should tonight. Mine did that last year and actually was picked up but the store failed to call me. Also is this a authorized store or Rogers Plus store

I do not know what plan you have. You have to switch to Share Everything plus plan and you will be on premium tab. For Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, you will be paying $499 plus tax and be on premium tab for 24 months. Each month remaining balance decreases as you keep the plan with Rogers. When the balance reaches zero, you are eligible to upgrade again. 

 

If your current plan is cheaper and worth keeping it, I think it is better to purchase the phone outright. I have 7GB Share Everyting plus I switched last Oct. When I tried to do hardware upgrade to S7 Edge, I was asked to swith to 9GB or 5GB Share Everything Plus to upgrade. I had to pay extra $45 a month for 9GB and $25 a month for 5GB. It was not worth it. I gave up the idea of upgrading to S7 Edge with free VR Gear and walked out of the Rogers Plus Store. Americans have the option to spread the price of phone over 24 months at zero interst rate, but we don't.

Unfortunately your plan will not work to upgrade for the new Galaxy S7 and edge. You need a shared everything plus plan on order to upgrade to those for the current pricing. Also the devices are as low as u can get them. The only other thing I could say is buy it outright.

You are eligible to upgrade anytime but you must pay the remaining flextab balance from your last upgrade. Once you 2 years is up you can upgrade without paying the remaining flextab as it will be at $0 but u still have to pay the device price as set.

Unfortunately no device is eligible for that plan. U must upgrade to the new plan or call in and see what they can do!

Well it is now day 7.  My reservation is still open. Ihave changed from #82 to 78.  I read the posts from meowmix about the phones being in backorder. Any body have any idea what the timeframe to clear this might be. No opinon from me this time, just fact and question.

There is no time frame... No one can give u a actual time when Samsung will send devices. It's up to them when they have enough to send over to Rogers or any carrier. At this point it's a waiting game.

Hey guys,

Enjoying the phone so far... Quick question though. Is it just me or the Gear VR was supposed to come with a 6 game bundle? There is nothing to show anywhere I checked... I know this is not a Rogers thing, since it's a Samsung promo, but is it that kind of thing that is US only?

In the US, if you activate Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, Bestbuy offers free VR Gear + 6 game bundle and 64GB MicroSD card. In the US, T-Mobile even offers one year of free Neflix subscription and Verizon even offers free Samsung Gear 2 Watch. You get to choose one of the three colours - Black, Silver and Gold for S7 Edge in the US. 

 

In Canada, if you order with Carrier before March 11, you get free VR Gear but no games bundle. If you purchase unlock phone before March 11 at full price of $999.99 from Samsung Experience Store, you are offered Free VR Gear and 128GB MicroSD but still NO GAMES bundle. In Canada there is only Black colour available for S7 Edge. 

 

The US Samsung promotion is until March 18. Living in Canada forces us to pay more for inferior bundle. What do you expect when BIG THREE dominate the wireless market.

Thats only in the US. Unfortunately it seems Samsung has limited that only to them and we in Canada only get the VR

Lol yeah it does but honestly there isn't much they can do. I have seen this in the past as well. They could actually put aside some device for the business and corporate customers.
