Re: Samsung Galaxy S6 5.1.1 Update

Hi everyone,

I can understand the cause for frustration and concern regarding the 5.1.1 update.

We have identified a glitch from Samsung with the Android 5.1.1 update and have temporarily paused it's rollout to customers as we work with Samsung to resolve the issue.
Once an appropriate fix is in place we will continue to push the update out.

Stay tuned to the OS Update Schedule here.

Thanks,

Sweet so basically deal with missed calls and messages for an indefinite period. Sounds about right!

Re: Samsung Galaxy S6 5.1.1 Update

The concern that some of us have is what will happen to devices that are already running the buggy update. Will they get another update? Do we have to send them in for service to get them fixed?

Is there a plan to address these issues?

Hello @mahersaghier

Maybe the factory reset might fix that issue. Try and see

Thanks @RogersAliciaG appriciate the info!

@mahersaghier as @Meowmix said, it won't go back to 5.0.2
Factory reset takes away all system files, cache and personal files. However, it does not remove OS. which in this case have been updated. It does not roll back as the OS is replaced, not patched as a layer on top of original.

I would also like to know what happens to the phones running the buggy firmware? Will you put a new update out that fixes them?
