Hey Everyone!

Welcome back to my annual Samsung Galaxy Reservation thread! Once again its the time of the year that Samsung has announced their new Galaxy line up. Rogers has Opened up their reservations for the phones!

How you will reserve if you’re an existing customer:
Log in to My Account on Rogers.com
Under Account choose Wireless.
Go to Manage My Device at the bottom of the page.
Click Upgrade My Device.
Choose The new Samsung Galaxy ( which ever model you want) as a “ Pre order”
Pick either Ship To Home or Ship To store (Device Reservation)
Choose a phone from the Phone Model drop-down.
Only phones that can be reserved will appear.

7. Review the account information next to your selection.
The email address must be auto-populated in the right section of the reservation form. Otherwise, you can’t reserve a device.
If the email is not auto-populated, first add the email address in the appropriate field of your My Account profile. Then, log out and log back in.
8. Select a store to pick up your phone.
9. Review the reservation details and click I AGREE to accept the Terms and Conditions.
10. Click Reserve to complete the reservation. A store representative will call you when the device is ready for pick-up.

How to reserve if you’re a new customer

Good things to know
Phone can only be reserved, not purchased ( The purchase of the device will be done in store)
You can change the pick-up location when the online order status is open. If the order status is in progress or shipped, the location cannot be changed
Shipments typically take up 4 days, and your device is held in store for 3 days ( The delivery can be next day in most cases)
If you don’t pick up your phone within 3 days, the reservation will be cancelled and be sold to a walk in customer. You can make alternate arrangements with the store manager if need be.
Only the account holder or an authorized level 1 user (someone authorized to make changes on the account) can pick up the phone. Photo ID is required when picking up the phone.
If a reservation was made to a location that is now closed, We’ll send the device to the closest Rogers store or authorized dealer in the area. The new store will contact you when the device arrives and is ready for pick up.

Reservation Fee
“What about this $40 reservation fee? Will it be returned to me?” You betcha. You’ll get a credit of $40 (+ taxes) for the reservation fee on your account if you reserved as an existing customer or to the original credit card if you reserved to activate a new line. Your reservation fee will be credited when:
Your phone ships from our warehouse or
You cancel your reservation online.
Before you go to the store to pick up your new phone, why not get a quote for your old phone and trade it in for a credit!

Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.
.For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confuses about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

They also started last year a pre ordering system done online being charged on your CC ( Credit card) imminently and having the device shipped to your home instead. 3 years ago with the iPhone 7 / 7 Plus and last year with the 8 &8+ with the X the ones that picked this way got it the day of launch or day after launch but only a few did. Not everyone. This way is a good way but sadly u do not see any status updates like u do with the reservation system and only get a confirmation email and a shipment email. ( some did not get any email until the unit got shipped with QMS or UPS). Please do remember. Using the SHIP TO HOME option does NOT give u any insight of updates or status. You will only get notified when it ships out.

i now its alot to read at the moment but i am trying to cover all the bases for everyone so everyone knows how the reservation works and what they need to know! as always do not be afraid to ask any question you have as I or any other member will answer it for you. I will do my best and answer all questions Cat Happy

"From what I remember, those that ship to home didn't get it at launch compared to ship to store that got it either the day before or at launch" Sigh....

Edited because I was actually able to search my old posts heh

My experience was with the S8 launch.  I ordered the phone about week after pre-orders went live.   People were receiving their in store items on release day  including some walk ins.  My IMEI number was changed the night before official release but I only received the courier on the Monday or Tuesday after the release day (and that was to downtown Toronto).

The negative to the Pay now feature was the real lack of communication.  My credit card was charged but there was no updates from anybody.  I ended up on a lark looking at the My Rogers site and seeing my IMEI number was updated to know that I was being dealt with.  The timing was fine but the experience was meh considering the lack of communication.

Thanks for looking into that Sigmahill. I'll keep an eye out on the IMEI change close to launch...good tip. I tried calling Rogers but I was told "you can't pick up a device from a store"....which let me know how this was going to go. After being transferred and placed on hold forever I gave up, which I feel might have been a part of the plan. I'm a pretty patient person and can wait for the phone, it's just that I am going on an international trip on the 10th and it would have be great. I'm using a 4 year old smartphone as I lost my S8 and wow let me tell you smartphones have come along way in 4 years. It's painful lol.

@cez
I was able to keep mine. There is a tab on the right in which you can choose to keep existing plan(the same area with the premium tab plans). You don't get quite as much of a discount that way, but worth it if you want to keep a good plan.

I would like to know too, please.
The Rogers deal is actually not so good if you factor in the difference between the value of the old device and Rogers' trade-in valuation (from www.rogers.com/trade). For instance, an used S6 cost around $200+ in the secondary market and Rogers' trade in is $40/$50.

@A_Visitor in this case it will get you $300 theoretically if you chose ship to store.

With regards to plan changes for ship to store my past experience has been I work out the plan when I pick up the device at the store. Example: keep same plan and pay more for the device or get a higher end plan and pay less or even buy it outright, this is all worked out at the store. If your plan is too old and moving to a new plan to get the device cheaper doesn't make sense in thr long run the only option might be to buy it outright but you can decide then.

Why is Rogers the only Carrier that is not offering the S10+ 1tb version? Heck even Freedom is offering the S10+ 1tb device?? Videotron - SaskTel - Bell - Telus - Koodo... but Not Rogers??

I get the $300 but it is offset by trading in an old phone for way below its market value.

Hello @shaggyskunk

Most likely due to them not wanting those models sitting on the shelves and not selling?. Who has the money for upfront or down pay for that model other then a few?. It's the same as the 512GB Xs Max. Not many ended up getting it and most carrier stores ( for all carriers) have the models collecting dust unless they get th approved to bring down the price dramatically.

Well considering that "budget" Carriers like Koodo & Freedom are offering the 1tb version - It's just disappointing - Rogers isn't known for being the least expensive Carrier either.... Just Sayin'

I thought when I chose to reserve for in store pickup it had an option in the drop down for the Ceramic device. It's not listed there though for ship to home so I could be wrong, it's when you go to the Device Reservation page. I tried to go back and check and I of course can't pre-order another S10 so I can't see.

$250 for a Rogers Galaxy S8+ lmao! I sold a Rooted Galaxy S7 last summer for $375 - Mind you it included a Incipio Dual Pro case - Spigen Tempered GLAStR and I threw in a 64 Gig sd card and there wasn't a mark on it it...

Looking around there seems to be some confusion on how much RAM each model has. Cant find the answer on Samsung Canada.
Specs were listed as:
S10+ 128/8 GB
S10+512/8 GB
S10+ 1TB/12 GB

There are now threads going around that the 128 has 6GB not 8. Is there a confirmation anywhere that it is indeed 8?

Mobilesyrup along with most US sites I've read has said 8GB for the 'standard' phones and 12GB for the 5G Ceramics.

So strange, there are pics posted, but maybe the demo units only had six.
They were from the US but from Samsung.ca the only info they mention is this in the

"Up to 12GB RAM only available on ceramic Galaxy S10+ models. RAM capacity may vary depending on model, colour, and country."
And
"Ceramic version only available on 8GB/512GB and 12GB/1TB Galaxy S10+ models."
No actual mention of the 128. Wish they could be clear. Thanks I guess I'll trust mobile syrup.
