Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Reservation numbers / Questions!

Meowmix

Hey everyone!!Smiley Happy

Once again its the time of the year that Samsung will be announcing their new Note line up. I am happy to announce that Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be announced tomorrow! As for the specs, They are rumored to be AMOLED 6'3 inch, Dual back cameraCamera, 3,000mAh battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 CPU, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with the ability to expect memory via a microSD card slot and more! As for colors, its been leaked out Midnight Black, Maple Gold, Orchid Grey, Deep Sea Blue (it’s likely that only a few of these will be available in Canada). As for when Rogers will be putting it live, it most likely will be tomorrow or the following days after, I will update this thread with more info to come!

1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Product & Services – Wireless & you will see a Red wording saying “Device Reservation" on the main page. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want; Samsung Note 8 Black and what other colors they may release it on. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.

2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.

3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.

4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confuses about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

5). They also started last year a pre ordering system done online being charged on your CC ( Credit card) imminently and having the device shipped to your home instead. Last year with the iPhone 7 / 7 Plus the ones that picked this way got it the day of launch or day after launch but only a few did. Not everyone.  This way is a good way but sadly u do not see any status updates like u do with the reservation system and only get a confirmation email and a shipment email. ( some did not get any email until the unit got shipped with QMS or UPS)

Let's make this thread the only thread for the Note 8 please and if you guys have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me and I'll gladly be able to help!Smiley HappyCat Happy

At this point, it would have to be a spectacular offer otherwise, I'm out. They should offer a 4GB ram model. I'm sure they put 6 just to mask the fact that there was nothing else particularly different, other than the camera.

I remember when they announced there would be a Note 8, the president of Samsung said it would be " innovative". While good spec's, I don't see anything too innovative compared to the Note 7, let alone S8+.

Hello @wpd1

I have to agree. I made this point before it many others tried to claim there is more. As u said, compared to the 8+ the only difference is th RAM, dual camera and Spen. That's all. Sadly if they don't offer much, I won't be doing THIS. My s8+ is running perfectly fine.

I'm in line!

I think it said number 127 this morning when I reserved. I however cannot see anything about where I am in line right now or any sort of confirmation about my note 8.

I already signed up on the Samsung website for the free wireless charger and SD card too.

September 15th cannot arrive soon enough....

Just wanted to point out that yesterday it showed the phone as being $349 (or $399) with the $549 crossed out and faded. But today it's back to $549. So there is an upcoming promotion of $349 (or $399) at some point in the future and they glitched and released it too early yesterday. Hopefully when we go to pick up the phones, that will be the new promo.

Hello @Thai69

The lowest price is for the higher paid plans ( 100+ per line) Also it does glitch out before hand so the pricing u may have seen could have been incorrect.

Hello @mxj004

Just fill that up with Rogers / Rogers and all the other information. It doesn't really care how u got it but from who thats all!.

So again pick Rogers store / Rogers as carrier and fill the rest in.

I've Been Here Awhile

Time is going to be a factor for me, since I'll be visiting family in a different province on launch day Sept 15 and through to the 19th, at which point I have a trip out of the country. My Note 4 is rebooting (if I'm lucky; sometimes I have to let it sit with the battery out before I can try restarting) several times per day, so I really kind of need the Note 8 asap.

The Rogers FAQ states:

"Will I get my device faster by picking up at store or shipping to home?

You will receive your device faster by paying today and having your device shipped to your home than by waiting to pick up and pay at a store. It’s also more convenient!"

Has it been people's experience that this is true? My concern with shipping is that if it doesn't arrive on Fri. 15th, then I've only got Mon/Tues for it to arrive since carriers won't deliver on the weekend. I can visit a store to pick it up over the weekend, though. And, if I choose shipping to home but am staying with family, can I even specify a different shipping address? (Because that might look kind of sketchy to the system.)

What do people suggest in this situation? Shipping to home or store? Do I get a family member to reserve one on *their* Rogers account, so that if by chance I have to leave the country before it arrives, at least they can take possession of the phone?

My Note 4 is barely kicking, and I'm really going to need a new phone before I leave. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello @11918

I explained this on my first post on page 1 as well :).

Again if you choice this option, you see no status on the update until it ships out. With the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus and S8/S8+ whoever did this option got a shipment email the day of launch and day after saying theirs have been shipped.

Also do keep in mind that they go down a list as well. So it all depends how many they get and set aside for stores, reservations, call centers, pre orders and such.

If you get a family member to reserve it on their line, they will either have to buy it outright or do the upgrade on their account instead of ur account.

My boss contacted his Bell business rep and was told that he'll be getting his Note 8 September 1. Must be a special insider thing.

Hello @Thai69

He won't. Samsung Canada won't allow any devices to be released before the actual launch date. If they do, Samsung can fine the carrier or manager that does that. So don't get ur hopes up.

Has anyone had luck with registering? I'm being asked for a product number? And the number is not there!

IF you follow the directions posted, where you register only for the promo not the actual device, it's very straight forward and there's no info needed.

Hello @comcry

Follow the link I gave. Log into ur Samsung account and then register for the promo. You do NOT need a model number or anything else. Only answer the pre order questions and fill it all out. U will get a email after.

I had to try different browsers, and could never get it to work on my phone. Try Firefox from a computer. Instead or asking for product details, it will ask you to fill in missing information from your profile. (Mailing address for me) and then go back to My Offers, it will now allow you to register

Hello @Awcrimety

That is correct. You will need to fix all the missing information on your Samsung account and then it will pop up.
