Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Reservation numbers / Questions

Hey everyone!!

Once again its the time of the year that Samsung announces their new Note line up. I am happy to announce that Samsung this afternoon announced the Samsung Galaxy Note 7!. The device seem to have amazing specs! Including memory SD card slot, water resistant and most of all, curved screens on both side for the Note Series and Iris scanner!

1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Product & Services – Wireless & you will see a Red wording saying “Device Reservation" on the main page. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want; Samsung Note 7 Black and what other colors they may release it on. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.

2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.

3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.

For frequently asked questions about the Rogers Reservation System, please click here Rogers Reservation FAQ

4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

Let's make this thread the only thread for the devices please and if you guys have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me and I'll gladly be able to help:)

To me the Note 4 was Samsung's last true innovative phone now with the Note 7 dead. S6 and all the Edge variants of that gen was garbage. Note 5 could have been great if they at least had the sd card but even then not innovative. S7 and S7 Edge I must admit are great phones but neither are steps ahead of competition. Seriously Samsung have not really stepped up and the one time they did in years they screwed up royally. Competition is good plus it forces customers who are long time users of Samsung phones to step out of our comfort zone. Samsung has had too much of a monopoly on Android. They became arrogant in removing features loyal fans cared about and seem to go back to the grassroots this Gen. Hopefully this debacle will force them to be what they once were and having to rebuild rep will in the end force them to be better.

The Pixel has all the momentum and resources to be the next Android super phone but hopefully Google doesn't screw up like with the Google glass. Serious drop the price by $100...$679 come on.

Hello @phonefan

Honestly after this Samsung ruined their name and devices. They need to fix everything to gain customers back.

There is no true Android phone like the Note 7. Some can argue that the Pixel is or the HTC 10 but nothing.

I contacted Crackberry to see if I can send back the Backpack Case and how to do so. I have the original packaging and have the shipping slip as well.

@Meowmix I hope you will be able to return your case. It is not fair for any Note 7 customers to be stuck with the cost of any Note 7 specific accessories for a faulty phone recalled by the manufacturing due to lack of quality control in design and production. Luckily I only purchased a Spigen case and screen protector off Amazon. I am hoping they take it back otherwise Samsung better reimburse me seriously. This whole disaster is just waiting for a class action law suit. I am going to keep the fast charger and earbuds from my old Note 7 just in case they don't. The wireless chargers I bought at least my wife can use with her S7 and the Gear Fit 2 works with my Note 4. I actually found myself using the Gear Fit 2 a lot. They should at least let us keep that as well as the SD card.

With that said I am only boycotting Samsung mobile products for a foresable future neither would I recommend any of their mobile products after this. I still enjoy their kitchen appliances and luckily the new washer I just bought was not part of another exploding recall...

Hello @phonefan

They have a 60 day money back guarantee so i am within the 30 days lol. So they should take it back. The money I get back will go towards a case for my next phone instead.

They won't ask for the SD card back. They Rogers store will want the replacement device with all accessories back in order to do the exchange or refund. U are allowed to keep the accessories from the first one though. Agreed that some people won't get back their money back due to the return policy has expired or some won't take it back.

Agreed I got my mother a 2015 Samsung Oven and a 2011 fridge which they love but as for mobile I won't recommend unless they prove they can handle it and not have issues like this.

@Meowmix that is good to know cause I am keeping all the accessories from the old phone. At this point and at my current level of frustration they can take this replacement phone and all its accessories right now if they want. Good ridance I say!

Hello @phonefan

Agreed! I will speak to the office of the President to see what they can offer me for the inconvenience if Samsung won't. Then get them to order me a phone lol. I don't want to go to the store and bother with travelling and such. I work 6 days a week and barely see my own family / girlfriend as is. ( thankfully we live together). I rather not spend my money and time to travel on my only day off.

I've been here awhile

I'm waiting on my replacement device to come, I registered for the replacement program.  I still have my old one.  Should I just return my old one for a refund as soon as possible to the store I bought it from? This is going to get messy.  I just want my money back and gonna stick with my note 4.

Hello @lb04

You won't get a replacement unfortunately. They stopped everything carrier in the world from selling replacements or new ones. So i would suggest giving back the original unit and getting ur money back.

I think I might have to go the way of the S7 edge. I already have a case for it from a few weeks back, wireless charging stand and the Gear S2 also. With no confirmation from Rogers on wifi calling and VoLTE in the Pixel I can't commit to that phone. I don't have a backup phone so I'll need to make a decision soon when I bring back the Note. I'm kinda ruling out the iPhone 7 Plus as I don't really want to go back to Apple and plus those phones aren't cheap. I'm betting one of the remedies for returning the Note 7 will be $0 for the S7/S7 edge on contract.

There you have it folks. Samsung has permanently discontinued the Note 7. The news is everywhere.

Yup and has dropped over 8% in stock market. Over 17 billion in market value in a blink of an eye. Honestly very mad at this entire situation. The best phone I've had and best phone on the market right now. RIP Note 7. I'll def miss ya.

Unbelievable. So sad and now I have no idea what phone to get. Thinking iPhone 7 for resale value. Or maybe holding off until the S8 is out (by that's a long time for me to be stuck with an iPhone 5). The edge 7 is now 6-7 months old. And the Pixel is an option but it's no where near as beautiful as my note. It's a first gen phone up there in price with apple and we do not know how the resale value will fair. So much stress, anxiety, disappointment and heartbreak. Thanks Samsung 💔

The drop is deserved. Some people are saying that a rebranded Note 7 might be released in a few months but why bother? Let the dead rest in peace. It will be interesting to see how much of this bleed into their other mobile product lines or other product categories. So many people I know won't buy their phones in the foreseeable future including myself. I am sure this will have huge ramifications internally I dont see how the current mobile leadership rolls over to the next gen. I will never preorder from Samsung again even if I were to revisit the phones in the future.

Problem with me is that I don't have a backup phone. I need to swap the Note for something else on the spot. Even asked a few friends if they have an older phone so I could weigh my options on another phone. No luck. I do like the S7 edge but the phone is already 6 months old and has the old TouchWiz and not the nice Grace UX interface. I guess eventually they will update the S7 Edge to it. Just honestly don't want an iPhone really again.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Reservation numbers / Questions

I read the Grace UX will come along with the Nougat update for S7 products by the end of the year although not sure when Rogers will release it. The Edge will probably be crazy discounted during Christmas. It's too bad you don't have a backup phone otherwise you can wait for the next gen.

Hello @phonefan

Unfortunately I saw this coming. They had to close it down and stop it. The issues they had could at the end close their mobility side if lawsuits were to go ahead.

Now i emailed Crackberry and got a response back. Thankfully I am able to return the Backpack back and get a full refund after the receive it and check it out. Gonna take images of the Backpack Case and make sure I send it with UPS or FedEx back( you have to pay it for ur self).

Now i am. Leaning towards the iPhone 7 Plus but I don't know what to do. Also i still have my original note 7 lol.

Hello @germain18_2006

Same could be said about the S7 and S7 edge as well. Really there is no other phone at this time to even upgrade to if all 3 flagships have this issue.

Does Rogers have the Pixel XL in store (display) to view?  I'm so torn right now.

Hello @comcry

I don't believe so as the decide is being launched in 9 days. They should get them within the week.

All products with Li-Ion batteries have the expotential to overheat and explode but the frequency of it happening with the Note 7 was way outside normal range.

The # of cases with the S7 or S7 Edge exploding did not lead Samsung to do a recall like they did with the Note 7. Neither do the volume of IPhone cases. This is no consipracy especially when Samsung themselves basically admitted the Note 7 is not safe.

In truth Li-Ion batteries with today's fail safe technologies is quite safe and stable but people have said that Fast Charge may be a culprit in making battery cells unstable and thus perhaps this is why we are seeing increasing cases?
