Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Reservation numbers / Questions

Hey everyone!!

Once again its the time of the year that Samsung announces their new Note line up. I am happy to announce that Samsung this afternoon announced the Samsung Galaxy Note 7!. The device seem to have amazing specs! Including memory SD card slot, water resistant and most of all, curved screens on both side for the Note Series and Iris scanner!



1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Product & Services – Wireless & you will see a Red wording saying “Device Reservation" on the main page. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want; Samsung Note 7 Black and what other colors they may release it on. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.


2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.


3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.

4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

thanks @meomix that makes me feel better. Yea i hope they let us keep the accessories and give us a second set with the new phone. those wall chargers are like $50 at bestbuy which is the only place i feel safe buying it as amazon and such seem to be selling fakes.

Well they said a brand new phone will be sent to us. So i take that as it will be in its full packaging as no where did it state that they will send it just in a box right?. We shall see when people start receiving theirs.

Me and my gf got two extra OEM Samsung Type C cables from Crackberry and only paid $43 with express shipping.. Didn't come with the fast adapting charger but the cables are what we needed. Hopefully the new ones come with accessories and we just send the device back.

Speaking of Best Buy. Here in Ottawa there are no Note 7 accessories for sale at the location I was at. I mean no cases or anything. Last week I saw cases and even replacement Spens for the Note 7. The entire section is now empty. They pull everything that has to do with the Note?

Yup as i was told they stopped selling any accesories for the Note 7 until this issue goes away. I don't find that fair as they are cases but i guess they want to be safe

I got the email as well which is good now to see when we actually receive them. I would appreciate a little something extra as I have to peel off my Slickwraps skin that I applied 😞 and of course the several hours to setup the phone again but will see what happens. If there's nothing it's for sure not a deal breaker.

Honestly i see your point as a extra thing for the sticker but let's be serious here for a second. I am sure you can bare the hour or two to restore everything back to the new device. Again they are giving us a NEW Note 7. So as i see it, it's worth the time. Plus u have the old one so it's going to be easy to transfer from one device to the other. One hour tops.

As for the skin, contact Samsung Canada and see what they can do. Maybe offer a replacement skin for free? Or something.

Let's be serious, this Note 7 I have IS brand new, it's 2.5 weeks old so I don't really see getting a new replacement as a positive as I rather just keep this. If the recall was 1 year from now then sure I could see that as a positive. There's so many little settings changes and tweaks that I do daily so it's not just an hour.

I know it's a bad situation for them and they could of handled it worse for us like having it repaired instead so yes getting a new one is better but not really a huge thing.

Yes but they are giving you a device that won't have the battery issues that may happen with ur current one. If you decide to stay with the device and anything happens with the battery, they won't help you as the recall was done for u to change the device over to a newer one with a better battery.

Now again it's all up to you but again it's worth it. If Samsung didn't do the recall, I am pretty sure most of us would be complaining.

Bottom line is none of this should be seen as positive for us. Sure my replacement may not blow up but 99.9% sure none of us will notice any differences so having to swap devices is a pain. They screwed up and are doing the right thing which is good yes but this ain't something to be excited about.

Anyways, I will shut up for now 🙂

LOL...Agreed.  May be he should just keep the existing one and wait till it explode than he will be more excited to get a new one...(Kidding)

Besides, crackberry already charged our money by mistake and we didn't see the back pack coming any soon...:(

Haven't gotten my email yet but hopefully will get it tomorrow. I submitted my recall application when it first came out and was announced on this very forum by our helpful posters!

 

As a valued customer who has owned Galaxy products (S3, S5, Note 4, and S7) I would have appreciated a gift for all our troubles. I am even going back and forth about my preorder gift because our company admin was never given a preorder sheet even though she ordered my phone during the qualifying period and even have an email from our company Rogers rep...don't get it... but whatever at this point I just want my new phone. I have even stopped doing any customizations on my current phone.

Honestly let's see what's in the package. If nothing is in the package as a gift, then Samsung Canada will have some people complaining.

Yes. I'm sure. People will complaining even if there are gift inside which is not enough gifts..lol..

You have to realized recalling is a big deal for the company.  Lots of money spend.  Just don't he so hash to the company when they already did the right thing with lots of money spend.  If you got a gift, that's great. It's a bonus.  If not, don't complaint.  Just enjoy your safe new phone. 🙂

Exactly! I don't need a free gift because of what happened. I am getting a new phone without the issues. That's good for me.. While yes i got the free bonuses, still i rather have a safe phone then a phone which may have issues lol.

I do agree that Samsung should reimburse the ones which bough skins to put on their Note 7s. That I do agree though.

I think everyone who preordered getting a gift for the recall is just a "bonus" but not something to really fuss crazy about especially since we already got the free SD card and even though I still haven't received my preorder gear fit 2 yet that was still a sweet gift for people who preordered. I think the complains will come more so from comparing to what other countries are doing.

Exactly. I see that and Samsung did soemtimes that HTC and Apple failed to do. Recall. None of those companies did that when a dozen users had their phones catch on fire an burn them. They brushed it off and just moved on.
