Samsung Galaxy Note 5 / S6 edge + Reservation numbers / Questions

As you noticed today Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 5. I watched the announcement at work while it was going on.  Here are some specs on it!

• Exynos 7420 octa-core (2.1GHz quad + 1.5GHz quad) 64bit, 14nm
• 4GB of RAM
• 32 GB storage (No SD card slot) 
• Non-removable 3,000 mAh battery with Fast Charging
• 16MP rear camera F1.9 lens and OIS (optical image stabilization)
• 5MP front-facing camera
• WiFi N, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS and NFC
• 153.2 x 76.1 x 7.6mm
• 171g
• Wireless charging
• SPen
• 4G LTE enable

Rogers will be selling it for $359.99 on a 2-year term, $860 no-term  and the reservation system will be open as of August 14th. 

Rogers will be releasing this device ON August 21st in 32GB sapphire black it seems but hopefully they add the more GB later on.

thanks but i went to samsung apps on my samsung galaxy s6 edge and i look and there is not a apps edge for s6 edge and oncircle too.

ps i think the features are preloaded on the samsung galaxy s6 edge plus.

i would like to have the apps edge and oncircle on my samsung galaxy s6 edge

It should be in there pre installed in the settings.. check settings - Edge lighting.

but the samsung galaxy s6 edge does not come with it .  is there going to be a update for the those features.

What are some examples of in dash mounting options???

Go to the Proclipusa.com site. It's a two part system. First, the dash mount which is vehicle specific. It fits in between panels on the dash. Second, a device specific holder that attaches to the dash mount. They have videos on site to show what it is and how it installs.

Sadly those apps do NOT work on the S6 edge. ONLY for the s6 edge+. Samsung has not yet made them available for the s6 edge ( not +) yet & might not do it as the edge is not as big or tall as the edge + is.

When you put a case on the phone, does the wireless charging still work or do you have to remove the case each time?

It works with a case on. I had a Otterbox on MY Note 4 and works just fine. Also on my S6 Edge when I had it, I had over 4 cases which i switched around and wireless charging worked just fine. No issues with casing as the case manufacturers make them like that.

from what i've read wireless charging will work, but depends on the case, the wireless charging and payment features require a certain proximity to the sensors, and some cases may be too thick and not allow it to work properly

maybe in the case of chargers it would also be less efficient and take longer to charge the further it is from the charging pad, not sure about this but it would make sense

for car mount i saw and liked this one...

leaning towards a suction cup mount as thats what ive used for in car GPS and it has worked fine while keeping it in view for navigation

It would be important for the wireless charging to at least charge it fast enough to be able to run google maps navigation with the screen on and not be losing battery %, that is the case currently with my wired car charger and S4, it slowly drains battery even when plugged in

I have seen my reservation number steadily drop since I first made the reservation about a week ago.

I am now number 49. 

However, doesn't this phone launch tomorrow? My reservation is still showing Open, and from what I remember last year with the note 4, that means it hasn't even left the warehouse yet. The status changes to "In Progress" then to "Shipped" does it not?

When can we exptect our Note 5's to ship? I want mine tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!
