S7 Edge APD3 update bug.

Can someone pass along some info to the Rogers Software team and Samsung? There is a bug in the latest update (APD3). The always on display no longer changes position automatically, which will result in display burn in (image retention) eventually.

There are tons of people reporting it at XDA, from all Canadian carriers (they all run the same G935W8 software, only the CSC is different). I just tested it myself. If you turn the display on and off again it will move, but it won't move on its own. It did before the update.

Thanks!

Hello @GibMcFragger

I can vouch for this. It seems they screwed up this badly here.

No problem! Yes, Samsung has been dropping the ball with updates lately. Bugs are slipping through.

Hello @mhaidar313

It doesn't seem like any news as of yet. Hoping something soon

Hopefully they can just push an update to the always on, instead of having to update the entire ROM. It depends on what the actual issue is.

Hello @GibMcFragger and @kavkaz

I spoke to our Samsung rep and he did state that Samsung is aware if the issue. It's not a carrier issue its a Samsunf issue which needs to be fixed. He will be giving me more information when he gets it.

there is an update rolled out  in India couple days ago, 1-2megs , hopefully it will take care of the Always On problem.

i guess we have to wait and see.

Hello @mhaidar313

Thats the same update that we got from what it looks like. So even they must of gotten the bug with this update unless they didn't change a number and rolled out another update.

Yes, but the update mentioned in the link is only 1.06 mgs , i think it is to take care of the Always On bug .

they received the  200+ megs update we got couple days ago way before we did.

thanks.

Hello @mhaidar313

I received a 5mb update right after that. I don't know why but I received it. Hopefully this update does fix the issue as many i noticed here at my work are complaining about it.

You did? Interesting. I haven't.

Has it fixed the AoD issue?

For everyone experiencing the issue Always On Display bug there is a simple fix just released by samsung today.

Go to Settings > Display >Anyways On Display > About Always On Display

An update should show as available. If it does not and you are running Version 1.1.22 or newer then go to the Galaxy App store and update your Always On Display application. After this update the display has started moving again for me.
