Of course they CAN withhold features. But wifi calling is available on LG, samsung and Iphones, if Rogers wants to set themselves apart they can offer features that competitors are not and maybe gain a little goodwill. I dunno, maybe this is why I don't run a major telecommunications company that is making money hand over fist yet still wants to nickel and dime its customers

Agreed. I used OneNumber on my Mac with a headset all the time. Not only was it incredibly convenient, people often commented how great the connection was. The VOIP call notification would go off long before my mobile even started ringing.
Plus, SMS was a lot more convenient than using my mobile.
Counterpath was the OneNumber provider. I've been in touch with Support because their free softphone - X-Lite could replace OneNumber. However, the prerequisite is having a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) account - which Rogers would have to provide. (So you can keep the same phone number.)
But I've spent an enourmous amount of effort going back & forth with Rogers Customer Service, Tech Support, Small Business & Enterprise. It's like no one at Rogers can spell S-I-P. They either don't know what it is, can't communicate with the people that do know, or, simply won't provide it.
Rogers Small Business offers Unison which is by far more robust but they were not willing to provide it as a replacement.
BTW, I have unlimited talk/text and was actually using OneNumber because I liked it. Not because it I was saving on my usage. Wi-Fi calling will consume usage. Again not an issue for me, but I'm sure someone with a spreadsheet at Rogers thought it was bad for business. Sort of like having unhappy customers.

Hello @stevenmilstein,
I am sorry to hear that you're having difficulty getting subscribed to a SIP service.
We do offer this service to businesses through our Rogers All in One Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Bundles. You can check out this site: https://servicesforbusiness.rogers.com/portal for more info.

HI @RogersCorey
First, thanks for the timely reply. It's comforting to know that someone is listening.
Second, it's been my understanding that it's never a good practice to take something away from a customer. While it's true that OneNumber was a "free" service, we all know that's really a marketing/package thing. It would be free if Rogers offered it with out any other billable services. One way, or, another, I've been paying for Rogers OneNumber.
Third, removing the service so Rogers can upsell me is also not a good practice.
Finally, all I want is my Rogers SIP account - which I've been paying for, so I can use a service like Counterpath x-lite with my Rogers mobile number. If Rogers really can't do that - perhaps they no longer have access to it, then they should find a more gracefull way to end-of-life the service by at least providing a new SIP account, or, better yet, provide Unison.
BTW, since this thread is titled "Re: Nexus 6P - WiFi Calling?", the other workaround would be to enable Wi-Fi-Calling. Others have.
Regards,
Steven

So just for rogers to know my situation :
I have an AGREEMENT with you. You know that little piece of paper signed by both parties including the terms of the said agreement and that you make a pleasure to remind me include early cancellation fees if I want to go away since you gave me a new phone. Fine, i'm good with that it's an AGREEMENT and no one forced me to sign it.
But on your part you have an AGREEMENT with me, that cites a wireless plan that INCLUDES rogers one number services. I only renewed my plan with you knowing that I had rogers one number since Rogers cellular reception is just so bad in my house.
No matter how much calls to tech support I make, they always say they can't do anything and I end up having massive call quality problems, dropped calls, and even calls going straight to voicemail (happening both on my phone and my mother's with not the same model wich makes it pretty clear it's not a material defect).
Rogers one number was my ONLY way to enjoy my phone and wireless plan to it's full extent, and therefore you are not respecting your contractual obligation to provide the service stated in our AGREEMENT.
Therefore I expect a fair compensation since you seem not to be able to fulfill your part of the agreement.
Will I have once more to send an official demand letter to your legal department to get what i'm entitled for?
Hope someone is listening here...

how do we get them to do that? There are a few threads on this topic, either this or voLTE for the 6P. How do they support other devices that have this feature, but leave this one out? It's very frustrating.
