Just arrived from EBay.
It has Android 4.4.4
"No Service - Rogers" "Emergency Call" is on the first screen.
And there's a "System Update Available" notice.
We have another Nexus 5 bought from Google that works fine and has been upgraded to Android 6.
But I'm pretty sure it worked fine with Rogers under Android 4
We've swapped SIMs, but neither works with the new phone, and both work with the old one.
The Mobile Networks settings are the same. LTE is the default.
Hope I don't have to return it ....
The APN is set to "Rogers LTE" ltemobile.apn
There's also a "chatr" chatrweb.apn, dunno about that.
Also when I press Network Operators and"Search Networks" it just never comes up with anything.
Sometimes it reboots and I get "Error while searching networks"
"Choose Automatically" and I get "Can't connect to this network at the moment. Try again later"
Really wondering if a system upgrade from 4.4.4 will help.
Well the upgrade to 5.1 didn't help.
Really irritating as the rest of the phone works sweet.
And yes, the seller says to send it back, and he'll replace it if I can't get it to work.
But he's located in Hong Kong.
Hopefully this one (brand new) not working is just some weird aberration, and its replacement will work.
You sure that the right bands are supported from that Nexus 5? I wouldn't be surprised if you received the 'non north american' version since it is from hong kong.
Have you also tried forcing LTE only connection and see if it connects?
Yea, the D820 is supposed to be for North America AFAIK.
It really should have worked. Was brand new, in-the-box.
Think it's the D821 model that's for Europe.
And the default connection was set to LTE.
I tried 3G too but it couldn't connect either.
Anyway, it's on its way back to HongKong now.
