LG G5 Questions / Reservation Numbers!

So LG Announced the LG G5 a couple weeks back. The G5 features a Snapdragon 820 SoC, a 5.3-inch QHD display, 4GB of RAM, two rear-facing cameras — including a 8-megapixel wide-angle lens — a 2,800mAh battery and USB-C, as well as WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2 and LTE connectivity. Rogers as of Today did let us know that it will be launched April 8th. It should be going on the reservation system up soon but ill give a exact date on when. Here are somne key questions about the reservation list & questions. Also if you are new customers and ort existing customer who pre-order the G5 gets a free CAM Plus accessory alongside their purchase on a 2 year term Plus plan.
 
1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the LG G5 to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Product & Services – Wireless & you will see a Red wording saying “Device Reservation" on the main page. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want; LG G5. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.


2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.


3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.

4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

I see the Galaxy S7 is available for pre-order starting today. Any word on when/if the LG G5 will be?

I'm curious to see how it will compare price-wise.

Unfortunately at this moment there is no news when the LG G5 will be available for pre orders. Once Roger announces it, it will be available for pre order.

 

Keep a close eye out for their a Facebook and Twitter page and also online as well!

Ok, hurry up and wait. I hope it's soon though. My phone's dying. Already down to 55% and it's 7:15 in the morning! Smiley Mad

I'm leaning G5 over S7 and the former's replaceable battery is one of the reasons. (see above)

Still, price is going to factor in.

Also, I see that there's VR gear offer for S7 pre-orders.

I wonder if LG will do something similar. Perhaps throw in one of the "friend" modules.

Oh my. I don't really care about changing batteries as i do have a backup battery charger which is fast charging. So that will charge my phone. Also it depends on if LG and the carriers make a agreement to have something aka a gift for free when u pre order the LG G5 but we shall see. Until then no one knows..

Got two LG G4 phones last year and each came with an extra battery and stand alone battery charger. Super convenient to just grab a couple of fully charged batteries when you're taking off and know you're not going to have to hunt for a place to charge your phone or worry about conserving your usage. Really hope something like that is offered with the G5 cuz I'm pretty sure I'm coming down with upgrade-itis!

I have a Qualcomm 2.0 charger, but it's sure a lot quicker to take 30 seconds to swap in a full battery.

Honestly i haven't heard any promotions for the Go yet. Last year LG announced that promotion package when they announced the G4 but nothing this year. We shall see!.

That's awesome! We had a radio shack store that was with rogers and how I hooked up with rogers but has since closed and the nearest store is 45 minute drive away! Can this only be done in a store or could I get it sent to my home? My contract is up in April as well!

When a consumer reserves it from Rogers it can only be shipped to their closest Rogers store you pick when u reserve the device. This way u can go in once it's at the store and make a decision on how u want go purchase it.

Only business and corporate customers can have their shipped to their home.

I keep on getting an error while trying to get set up for the reservation login. 😞
I filled out our business information on https://secure.rogersdirect.ca/reserve/Default.aspx?lng=
and get an error telling me "This site is temporarily unavailable. Please check again at a later time."
This message has been happening for a day and a half.
A bonus for me though as I had tried setting up on the river direct site a few times before and I wasn' even able to get past clicking on the "Reserve Now! Don't have a login? Click here" button. It used to just reload the same page.

I was able to go in & see the LG G5 in the list. I would suggest trying on another browser or clearing your cache. Try then & see.

Rogers has posted the devices on their website and the prices! Price is $299 on a 2 year term with a eveything shared plus plan and $799 outright price. If you have a older plan unfortunately you will need to upgrade to a everything shared plus plan in order to get the device on a sub price.

any idea of the actual release date? is it the 8th? If we reserved it and are pretty high in line (71 in an area where i very well could be the only one reserving it) are we more likely to get it on the release day or should we plan to go to the store the moment it opens on that day?

What in all that is holy is wrong with Rogers business reservation system? Seriously...

I reserved an LG G5 through business and got 27th in line... never got any follow emails. About 5 days later I did it again thinking it may not have worked and I got 29th in line (not a very popular phone here I guess). Agian no follow up emails.

So I emailed the business centre and told them to cancel my orders, noth of them.

 

I got a reply was sent to a website, and it ended up ordering a third phone #33 in line !!!

 

I never got any follow up emails, I now appatantley have 3 phones coming and I can't log in to check the status. I tried to reset the password but it doesn't recognize my email addres..

 

I suppose I shouldn't expect much else considering for the last 7 years they can't get my company name correct on my bills or caller ID. The best was when I would call and Air Miles would show up as my company name....

The device has been released as of 2 weeks ago. It all depends on stock love from Rogers as LG send them devices but i am pretty sure u got it!
