Hey guys!

Google just announced the Google Pixel and Pixel XL! Great phones with great features! Let's discuss more here!

1). Once Rogers has announce when they will add the Google Pixel and Pixel XL to the reservation list & the day comes, sign into your My Rogers account - Product & Services – Wireless & you will see a Red wording saying “Device Reservation" on the main page. Click that & it will take you to the page. Once there you will need to pick which device you want; Google Pixel and Pixel XL Black and what other colors they may release it on. You also need to pick the store you want it to go too. Just to make it clear, reservations are for current Rogers wireless customers which have contracts with them. Rogers will put up the Pre order list for people that want to pre order the phone which have no wireless accounts with Rogers. Also just too add below is the meaning of the statues .

- If your status is "OPEN", your reservation has been made and we are awaiting product from our supplier. At this time you can change your pick-up location, contact email address or cancel your reservation.
- If your status is "CANCELLED", your reservation has been cancelled and your reservation fee will be credited back to your account.
- If your status is "IN PROGRESS", we have begun the shipment process and you will not be able to edit or cancel your reservation any longer. The next email you will get will be the one that confirms shipment to the store you chose.
- If your status is "SHIPPED", your device has left our warehouse and is on its way to the store you chose. Keep in mind that you can NOT reserve a device via calling them. It can ONLY happen if the reservation system is down but they will to reserve it via online. Plus if you reserve it via phone, you will NOT see your status or know what number you are VS reserving it online.


2). Please keep in mind that if you pick a Rogers Authorized dealership, you may not be able to get the device soon after it ships. This has been the main issue with all the iPhone reservations & most of the other devices which have been on the reservation system. I would suggest you pick a Local Rogers store (Corporate Rogers store or Rogers Plus) to go to get it. When the Rogers warehouse sends it out, the Rogers stores will get them first. Some of the Rogers Authorized dealers have their own warehouse in which the devices will go to. After that there is no tracking until the device ships from that warehouse & goes to the store & they call you. You can also look for your FlexTab aka upgrade fee online via My Rogers or contact Rogers & they will let you know.


3). Also remember you are going to have to put down a $40 fee to reserve the device. Once it ships out, the $40 fee will be reversed back into your account. IF you want to cancel your reservation, that $40 will also be credit back to you. So either way you will get that $40 back. Also remember you may NOT be the first to get the phone if you have a high number or a low one. The Reservation system is made to have a device reserved for you as the stores will be sold out. If your reservation status still says “ OPEN” after launch & a store has a device in stock, you can still go in the store & get it. Then come back home & cancel the reservation online. If the status is “ IN PROGRESS” & you get a device via a store that have one for u, you have to wait until it ships out & then tell the store that u picked u do not want it. Do reemember the reservation number is CANADA - WIDE. This means if lets say you are #45 in line for the black one, you are #45 for that GB , color & model Canada wide. Also keep in mine you have to be the account holder in order to pick up the device at the store. No one else can. You can try adding a family member as Level on the account but some stores will decline it.

4) .For Corporate / Business customers. You guys will have a different line then regular customers do. This means you guys have a few different statutes then regular customers do. Also keep in mind for the past few years there has been issues / confusen about business customers getting the phones via the reservation. You guys will be getting them the day of launch or after depending on your status & what goes on.

I'm a frustrated Nite 7 refugee waiting for my Pixel XL 128GB BLACK but based on my research this is certainly not a problem with Rogers or their pre-order system. This is Google. We are seeing the same reports if little to no availability of this device in the USA as well.

I honestly think they underestimated the popularity of a 128gb 5.5" device which is definitely a shame considering the features they are touring with VR and 4k video etc. are perfectly matched for this exact device...

My Note 5 32gb is constantly full and when I had to start using it as my daily driver, I had to remove all if the VR content to give myself enough space to use the phone...

Anyhow the best people can do is join the waiting list from google and see if they get it in before Rogers. In the mean time, go to the store and check out the device in person. I think that will convince you it is worth the wait, long and unknown as it may be...

For Note 7 folks that are stuck with no phone to fall back on, it would be a nice gesture for Rogers to make sine arrangement for a loaner device while they wait for the Pixel devices to be available but I doubt that will happen. If I was in this position, I would certainly ask...

IMPORTANT EDIT: This is not the case. Twitter made a mistake.

 

Just recently their support twitter noted that loaner phones were only for when a phone is in for repair (as an answer to someone in the Note 7 issue)

Incorrect. The stores will lone u out a device if u need one. You pay a $50 deposit fee and ur set.

The only option they have is either wait and get a loner phone which u have to pay $50 deposit down for it and make sure you mark down what u see aka scratches, damage and such or get another device.

Rogers does have a loner phone program... They even announced this in the Note 7 Reservation thread I made many times. You pay a $50 deposit fee which u will get back once u return the phone. Problem is that many don't want to go that option.

@Meowmix Sorry, I was trying to respond to buddy above me and forgot to tag him.

 

For the time being, I have my phone and am just waiting patiently on my pixel to get to Rogers.

 

If the people who do need a loaner because of the Note 7 can get one, then the Customer Service Twitter should be indicating that rather than saying that it's reserved for people's whose devices are out for repair.

Exactly. I still have my Note 7 even though I have the iPhone 7 Plus JB 256GB. Gotta send it back but I went though alot just even getting the iPhone.

The loner phone can work out. The twitter account made a mistake on that. Stores will allow anyone with a Note 7 to take a loner phone if they are awaiting the Pixel device.

Hey!

 

If anyone here already has a pixel from rogers (either type) could you check to see if the bootloader is unlockable?

 

Just go to developer settings and check if OEM Unlocking is greyed our or not (if it isn't it should look like this: https://imgur.com/a/647Wu)

While yes that is true, if u lost the original receipt you can ask to speak to a manager and see if they can help. If that doesn't help ask to speak to the Office of the President. They will be able to do it from there. And ur set. 🙂

Doubt you would be able to make an accurate guess, but I will try anyways. Got my shipping confirmation for black 32gb around noon. I live in the scarborough area, when do you think I will receive it. Hoping tomorrow, but I know thats highly unlikely. Only if it was Canada Post or puralator I could expect it tommorrow 😞

I'm sure this has been asked already but I don't want to go through all the posts.  I reserved an XL silver on the first day (October 4), 32GB.  I have a fairly low number (<20) and it is still showing as open.  What's the status on these shipping?  I don't want to cancel as I will lose the pre-order offers.

It all depends. From what everyone is saying and Rogers posted yesterday which they took down today, seems like 2-4 weeks for that one. It could come sooner but no one knows.

thanks for the response.  Is it fair to assume that there are none availble in stores?  If they couldn't even meet the pre-order obligations, they couldn't put inventory in the stores could they?

I am in Montreal and have called many stores today. All the stock they have are 32GB models. So I'll just wait for my Preorder

most carrier stores have none of the Pixel XL in 128GB in both colors. Only in 32GB. Seems like a shortage going on.
