I am getting phone calls every day from phone numbers i do not know. This month alone i have received over 30 calls from these numbers listed below!
(edited for security purposes)
is anyone else getting these calls, and what is rogers doing about them!? Until December i have never received calls from any unknown numbers. Just wondering what other people are doing to stop these calls?
Solved! Solved! Go to Solution.
I also get various unsolicited calls. Most I have been able to trace to Bell Mobility and associates. They promise not to call again but still do. I am thinking about a serious letter to the pres when I find an address. frmcdo

Using this feature lets you reject incoming calls from a list of numbers that you specify and/or from any private numbers that call your line. These callers will hear an announcement indicating that you are not accepting calls from their number.

cool. so you are forced to pay 5 dollars per month in order to stop unsolicited calls from harassing you and using your daytime minutes and voicemail. sounds fair.
I have been getting unsolicited calls on my cell phone as well. From unkown telemarketers. I have no idea how they get my number, but it is now costing me daytime minutes and voicemail charges. Doesn't seem like there is any reasonable way to stop it. Unless you want to pay 5 dollars a month to manage a list of numbers you want blocked. Pretty ridiculous.
I just signed up on a plan with my iPhone 4 three days ago, and i got my first Telemarketer type call today! it was 1-800-335-80#$ number (edited), i didnt bother answering, as i didnt know who it was, and it was a 1-800 number...... that B.S, IMO :-)
BTW- I installed iBlacklist, and then can blacklist certain #'s/texts/SMS, ect...... works awesome!
I just called rogers customer service and got bitchy with them and told them i did not appreciate the calls and told them to stop them.
Telling the telemarketers to remove you from their call list will do the trick while simply hanging up will not. I used to just get fed up and hang up but now that I have started telling them to remove me off their list, most calls have stopped.
Something else to check out is the National Do Not Call list implemented for these specific reasons:
If you sign up to that, no more telemarketing calls. (From my understanding all telemarketers have to check this list and cannot call any numbers on that list).
