What are the cost savings of switching from a landline to a cell phone?

I have a Rogers bundle (TV, internet, landline and a four cell phones for the family of four).  I'm looking to save money.  To do so I'm thinking of cancelling the land line and using one of the cell phones as the primary number for the house.  I use about 200 minutes each month on long distance calls in Canada.  Total for the landline is $47 for a new package.  Cost had been $64. .  A cell phone package that matches my long distance calling would cost $50., I'm told.  I thought there would be considerable cost savings by moving from a a landline to cell.  I guess that I'm wrong.  Am I?

Your thoughts would be appreciated.  Thank you.

All in all, it should be a savings.

even if say your cell plan was only $50 right now, and to get enough calling features, etc you needed to go to  a $70 cell plan, you are still paying LESS than the full amount for the landline.

There are just the obvious limitations of that if that phone is out of the hosue, potentialy you have no phone access in the house 😞
(though with each person having their own.. thats less likely?)

One thing to look at (debating on getting one of these for my sis in law who only has cell now) would be these new panasonic phones

They allow you to link/dock a cell phone to them.. that you can then answer the phone with a regularish phone 🙂
