Question regarding long distance incoming calls.

Hi folks. I got a question regarding incoming calls on my iPhone plan. the basic plan is 300 Minutes + 5GB Shared Data Unlimited Eve & Wknd Minutes(within Manitoba) 300 Weekday Minutes(within Manitoba) 6pm Early Evening Calling 100 Bonus Minutes.

Now the question I have is incoming calls not within Manitoba, would I be charged for answering them or when they leave me a voice mail? Right now I only have mini voice mail 3 messages a limit. And when I say not within Manitoba I don't mean I'm travelling outside of Manitoba I mean the caller is outside of Manitoba. Like for example I am still in Manitoba but say I get a call from Quebec or even the US. Would I be charged for answering them or letting them go to voice mail or is it just outgoing calls I'm charged for?

If I'm understanding your question correctly you are in your local calling area when receiving the calls.  If this is the case then you would not be charged long distance, only airtime.

you people are being very slow in responding to my questions. yet I see you responding to others came after me like an hour or a day later with harder questions than I asked. Because you took so long I took matters into my own hands and added the cheapest long distance ad-on I could get. I even left a question on the Rogers one number forum and you people are just being rediculiously slow.

Yes you will be charged long distance if someone calls you & you pick up. If someone calls & you leave it to go to voicemail, you will NOT be charged as you are not accepting the phone call. Like you did, get a long distance plan which will be better.

AS for your second post. Please be more nicer to the community. Not everyone has the answer & not everyone will post if they do not wish. This forum is bases on Users helping other Users out. Mods do come & help. Not everyone will know the answer to your post or want to help. So please take it easy if no one answers you within a few hours.I have seen many posts that go unanswered & get answered a few hours / days later. It depends on who knows how to do it or has the info.

I have a $85 Pay as you go account with unlimited evening and weekend local calling. I am being sometimes being charged for incoming long distance calls (at 50c/min) WITHIN my local calling area. Customer service says this is normal yet all references to long distance charges on the rogers website say I should only be charged local airtime for ANY incoming call. What gives?

Hey, 

If you make a outgoing call to US, you would have to dial a 1 in front of the number you dial. As for incoming calls, it would not indicate if the call is from US but if you have call display you should be able to see the international number. Hope this helps.

This is from an email I have received from Rogers regarding outgoing calls:

Rogers msg: As of December 14, 2015, we will no longer play a pre-recorded message if you forget to dial a 1 before making a long distance call within Canada. Instead, we'll connect you right away. Long distance fees will continue to apply, so please check your account at MyRogers to better understand what is included in your plan. Thank you.
