I need to port my Telus mobility number to my Rogers cell phone. The Telus phone no longer works and can't receive texts to do the text verification. I spent 2.5 hours on hold with Telus waiting for them to do a manual bypass. I'm not completely sure they understood the issue and after 2.5 hours they hung up on me without any explanation or call back. I really doubt more hours on hold will accomplish anything.
I thought of removing the physical sim from the Telus phone and putting it in my Rogers phone to get the text verification, but I have an esim for my Rogers phone. I am reading online that Rogers phones with esims are locked to the Rogers network and will not connect to the Telus network. I also don't want any issues with my Rogers esim getting deactivated.
I am somewhat at a loss with what to do. I have to port the number - all my financial accounts are linked to it and without it I am locked out of everything. Help please!

first of all have you "Tried" putting the telus sim in the rogers phone? just guessing that it will not work is not good enough, try it yourself, you might be surprised, whats the worst that can happen? the phone could be sim locked and reject your sim? either way you can try my next suggestion. SEcondly, its 2025, it's so easy to borrow a cellphone from a friend or family member to use temporarily or some people even have like 5 or 6 old phones lying around, what's stopping you from using one of those? sometimes you can even go to the rogers store and the associate can let you use one of their demonstration phones temporarily to complete your number port. There are many ways to get this to work, but yes the SMS is there for your protection it can not be defeated, otherwise hackers and fraudsters will take advantage of this and cause more harm than good.
