Each service taxed , one provider one bundle.

Why am I being taxed on each one of my services, cell phone ,cell phone, TV, internet?
Yes they are all individual services. But they are services provided by one provider under ONE bundle .
If I go to the store and buy 4 different items and pay for it at the same time ,I receive ONE tax.
There is a difference of $34.85/month on my bill from being taxed individually.
All four services taxed once on my BUNDLE is ; $353.03/month
Where as, all four services taxed individually on my BUNDLE is; $387.88 which is a difference of $34.85/month

Re: Each service taxed , one provider one bundle.

Hello @Parnell68,

Thanks for joining the Rogers Community!

Making sure you understand your bill charges is very a must. We certainly want to help you shed some light on this.

Normally, if you're billed on 4 different amounts, or if you see a one-time charge for the tax as a whole, it should add up to the same thing.

The taxes are calculated based on your province rate:

Canada's Province Rate type (HST, GST, PST) Provincial rate Canada rate Total
Alberta GST 0% 5% 5%
British Columbia (BC) GST+PST 7% 5% 12%
Manitoba GST+PST 8% 5% 13%
New-Brunswick HST 10% 5% 15%
Newfoundland and Labrador HST 10% 5% 15%
Northwest Territories GST 0% 5% 5%
Nova Scotia HST 10% 5% 15%
Nunavut GST 0% 5% 5%
Ontario HST 8% 5% 13%
Prince Edward Island (PEI) HST 10% 5% 15%
Québec GST + QST 9.975% 5% 14.975%
Saskatchewan GST + PST 6% 5% 11%
Yukon GST 0% 5% 5%

Could you please explain in further details the breakdown of the $34.85 discrepancy you've identified?

Looking forward to your reply!
