Changing Account Balance

fconquergood
I've been here awhile

Recently I moved to a new apartment and got services up and running.  I was checking the balance on MyRogers (of the old account) the other day and it showed a balance of what my normal bill is of $317.81.

All of a sudden today I see a balance of $1,417.68.  I know I added some channels/made changes (on the new account).  But there is no way my account balance should ever be that high.  I have never missed a payment in the past decade.

I want to know why this much of a sudden change has happened.

Re: Changing Account Balance

The quickest way to get answers would ve to give Rogers a call by dialing 611 from your Rogers line. Customer Care should be able to look at both accounts and all of the charges to see what they are and related to.

Were you in a contract for your services on the old account that were ended early, generating a some ridiculous early cancellation fees?

I was not under a term contract.

Re: Changing Account Balance

Do you have rented equipment that has not been returned? Were you financing or leasing any devices?

I own the digital TV boxes.  I have not received a waybill to return the old modem I was renting.

I did switch over from the legacy system (old account) to the xfinity service (new account).

Doing the math, I should not have received a charge of over 1,000.  I would understand if some of these charges were related to the new service (plus one time tech fee) but even then that much?

It would make sense if there was a way to view itemized details on the my account section.

Thank you for your advice with customer care.  I did contact them and they said there was a system error and only the 317.81 bill is valid.  I also checked the balance on the new account and that was what I calculated.
