Can you set a Password or Pin to validate account changes?

Lonely

With some of the news about scammer impersonating account holders, is it possible to set a verification password or pin that must be provided before there are any changes. For example issuing a replacement SIM, changing mailing address, etc?

I assume this is something the store or call center staff would need to validate with the user before processing these types of requests.

Good evening @Lonely,

Welcome to the Community!

We take security very seriously and provide many methods to protect access into your account.

You can set up a PIN number to access your account that is known only to you. You can also choose a secret question and answer in case you forget your PIN. By responding to a question that only you know the answer to, we can verify that you are, in fact, you.

If you don't answer the question correctly, you will not gain access to your account.

You can also set up multi-factor authentication to keep your MyRogers account secure.

I hope this information helps :).

Thank you for the information.  I don't know how to set up a verification question.  Is the only way to actually go into a Rogers store or call Rogers support?

Hello @mm4 !

Thanks for being a part of our community! Happy new year! 🙂

To have a security PIN and secret question added to your account, you can reach out to Customer Care using your preferred method of contact. You may click here to view the available options. Once authenticated, you'll be able to add a PIN to your account.

Please note, for regular consumer accounts, the main Account Holder must authorize a PIN to be added to the account before any Authorized Contacts are able to do so as well.

I hope this helps!
