We have a Canada / US Plan. Wondering if while we are in the US, would people in Canada, calling our Alberta number (780) xxx-xxxx be charged long distance?

Hello JulieMac,
People who reside in Canada who call your Alberta phone number will be charged what ever rate their local phone company charges to make a call to Alberta. You could be home in your house or half way around the world, the person calling you does not know if you are out of the country nor does it matter and they do not need to know, also their phone company will not know this so they are only charged the rate call your alberta number that's it.
It does NOT matter where in the world you are, the person calling you will NEVER be charged extra, only you are on the hook for extra charges when YOU travel with your cell phone outside the country, according to your plan
