I would have to look through the ToS again.. often they build things in, that they CAN do those changes :smileysad: but not sure in this case.

On a 'better' note??

Called rogers again.. got a semi compentent phone rep.. who actualy talked to a manager.
Weither this is the FINAL answer on it?  Not sure.. i mean we would have to wait till after the date potentialy to find out... but this is what i was able to get.

You know how when say you PAY for TMN... but this week say it was on FREE PREVIEW.  your listing for the channel, still says FREE PREVIEW, even though you are paying for it.
She said, this is the case for the current showing of that message.
There are some of the lower accounts.. Basic cable, digital basic and digital plus, which were receiving the Food network, which shouldnt be.
The VIP package incudes the food network.. so this should not effect people with the VIP package or higher.

This does make sense.. as someone on digital basic or plus, would NOT get access to the HD version, so why no message or change on that channel.

thanks for the information.

Hopefully that is the case. I wish my dealings with Rogers were more like house insurance...just pay and there are no changes for a whole year. that would be so much better than getting letters saying my bill is going up or my services are being cut. it really should be more locked in than it actually is. we can't get out of the contract without penalties but they can change whatever they like. doesn't seem fair to me at all. i guess deregulation will be good for the industry, maybe make the companies actually care about making customers mad.

I guess the locking in of the prices goes both ways.. which is why they dont do it.

I beleive, with most contracts with rogers, there is a MINIMUM level you have to retain.. say.. Digital basic.. but not basic cable, that sort of thing.

If it was a complete lock on the contract, that they could not change the price on the plan, etc.. it would likely lock you into the plan you had.

So say you started with the ultimate with all the channels... the decided you cant afford them or dont want them.. you could be stuck with them the whole contract :smileysad:

Im not saying its RIGHT.. just trying to look at both sides of the matter.

This was posted on Roger's Facebook page today!

Food Network is not being removed from our VIP service. There's a message on our interactive programming guide that should only reach affected customers, but VIP is not one of them - the message is being seen by all customers. We're working to correct that ASAP. Sorry for the confusion!

Too bad none of the moderators could have replied here!

Compared to some people on this forum.. i dont complain much :smileytongue:

But that is one of the bigest complaint i have with rogers.. that the severe lack of communication between people/departments severely hinders their support.

This issue for example.. its being changed/moved from whatever package.  Ok, fine.  There should be a communique out that explains whats happening.  Bar this display issue, the CSRs should know about this change going on..

Once again, Rogers has confirmed to me that if you are a VIP customer, you will NOT lose the Food Network. Apparently, some customers have been receiving Food Network by mistake. These are non-VIP customers. In order to continue receiving Food Network, these customers will need to subscribe to the Lifestyle Theme Pack. Rogers has also said that the message on the IPG was an error and that they are working on having it removed.

Thanks for looking into this gdkitty. I am glad to hear the Food Network will continue being included in the VIP package, as I do not have HD and cannot view the HD version.
