I'm not sure if this has been posted already, if it has forgive me. I was talking to Rogers this morning asking why the music channels are visually blacked out since the latest firmware update plus would we ever get Quick Start Guide (QSG), Call Display, Lobby Channel (in high-rises) etc. and they explained it to me.
Apparently it is now normal for the music channels to have no visual display. I find that a bit strange as my 8300HD box in the bedroom still shows the visual display. She recommended turning on the info bar at channel change in options, that helps.
The QSG, Call Display and the other gimmicks that come with the 8300HD box apparently are analogue and therefore wont be available on the new box until the services are upgraded to digital, which should happen eventually. In the case of the Lobby camera channels 998 etc. the equipment at the building-end has to be digitised so get on to your landlords, condo committees or whatever, to liaise with Rogers on that.
I had asked to be transferred to Technical Support from Customer Relations who had just very nicely offered me a 1-year free box rental and a 30% discount to keep me as a customer. It sometimes pays to grovel I find ;-) .... !!

Thanks for the update on the call display, etc.. i always wondered if that was the reason.. never asked myself.
As it appears they are slowly phasing the 8300s out (not listed on the hardware list) hopefuly its on the TO DO list.

@Gdkitty - you're welcome. ;-)
@Meowmix, let's hope they do fix that. It seems to me that it would be a minor thing to fix too.
