Just got an Explorer 3290 digital box. I hook incoming cable into it & outgoing into my DVD player/recorder and then a HDMI cable to my TV. Have an optical cable from the 3290 going into my sound system control box and onto the tv. TV and soung great. Problem arises when I tried to record a late night tv show through my DVD player/recorder. It recorded the show but not the sound. Seems this 3290 box is the ultimate sound controller. Any way around that? I can't find any hookup instructions. Prior to this 3290 box, I had a 940 box. It was great. Cable in, cable out to my DVD player/recorder and optical sound cable from the recorder into the sound system controller and onto the tv. All viewing and recordings worked fine. This 3290 won't do that. Any suggestions......or should I just go and get another 940 box. Mine are rentals so I can get what I want I guess. Tks
