So I signed up for Cable TV last saturday, declined waiting for an appointment so someone could install it(earlier appointment would have been Tuesday). I know how to install cable boxes.
I go home and install it, using a splitter so I could have both my rogers internet and my rogers cable functional at the same time. Internet still works fine, cable isn't getting any connection from the network.
I disconnect the splitter, and run straight cable(leaving internet temporarily disconnected). I go through the steps again, still no luck.
I call tech support, he goes and checks everything out, says it should be working, but isn't. Asks if I used any third party stuff, I say I used a splitter but that it works well with or without it. He says to disconnect it and try again, then call back and tell the results, but in the meanwhile he'd schedule an appointment for me for Tuesday, when a technician would look over it. I re-confirm that my mobile # is in my contact info rather than my old number associated with my internet account. I run through all the steps with and without the splitter by myself again, still no luck, I call back to say as much, so it would be noted, and to re-confirm my appointment.
Today(well, yesterday now), I wait through the designated time slot. No calls, no knocks on door, no intercom. Nothing. Also, I had the glorious experience of finding that both the store rep and the tech rep didn't make the contact info changes I wanted, when I went online and saw my old number was listed as my phone #. Chances are, the rep called prior to see if anyone was home, and because he got no answer(the owner of that number is on vacation), he didn't bother to come and check for some idiotic reason.
I got cable tv and the movie network for Game of Thrones(which I missed, by the way, due to no fault of my own), and the most recent episodes aren't on RoD through my computer.
So yeah, just wanted to rant a little, and ask:
-When do new episodes air on RoD?
-What are the odds that a technician actually shows up at my apartment next time I schedule an appointment?
-What are the odds that the technician won't have some kind of issue and let me complete installation and configuration myself(like what happened when I had to set up my internet)?
-What are the odds that I get some cost shaved off my bill? I'm not too upset about missing the last episode. I'll watch it soon enough. But if I can't have this fixed before next sunday....I mean, I'm paying for a service and it's not being given.
Anywho, anyone else have similar experiences?
