I was editing some of the settings for a few of my scheduled recordings and noticed that about half of the programs listed as being scheduled are from days in the past, at least as far back as a week. Is this normal? I would delete them, but I want to be sure that won't delete future recordings. If it is a bug, then it is one more reason for me to look at exchanging this particular STB.

Thanks Chris. I will assume that is the case. When I get home, I am going to verify that it is only showing programs whose next showing is not in the guide yet and so resulting in the first and only listing (the old one) be shown as a pending recording. But, I am fairly certain I saw programs that had since been recorded. I'll verify and update this thread.

The core problem here is that the SA/Cisco boxes don't have a place in the UI to keep track of your series recording requests. They NEED an entry in the episodes to record list or they will lose track of the program. Even then, I find that sometimes shows that don't air for a few weeks in a row will fall off the recording list altogether.
This is something that other PVRs (no names mentioned) handle MUCH better than the Rogers boxes.

OK, that makes sense and compliments what Chris wrote. I guess you are talking about Tivo, maybe. I used that for years and loved it, but for reasons outside of their control, they cannot support HD on the Rogers network, so I eventually gave it up. I've had the Rogers box for a number of years too, but only really used it as a digital tuner for the Tivo. The Rogers box isn't too bad, though it could certainly use a rethink in terms of user interaction and workflow. I am getting used to it, but seem to have constant questions.
